At Smith Douglas Homes, we pride ourselves on being one of the fastest growing home building companies in the country. We are looking for Summer 2026 Construction Interns to join our team. We have open opportunities across our various Divisions located throughout the Southeast and Texas.  

Position Summary: 

Smith Douglas Homes is excited to offer an 8-week Summer Internship Program designed to give college students hands-on experience in construction management. This immersive program allows interns to work directly with Construction Managers in the completion of homes to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do:

1. Oversee community in Construction Manager’s absence
2. Perform routine production activities (minor repair and replacement installations)
3. Meet with and sign off on deliveries of materials when needed
4. Water lawns (seasonal)
5. Attend Quality Assurance walk and manage any follow up activities
6. Assist with Homeowner Orientation Sign off
7. Keep all drive barricades in place, unlock and lock homes daily
8. Monitor community to review and enforce safety regulations
9. Install water meter location cards
10. Oversee building and painting of permit boards
11. Post building permit cards
12. Adjust/clean out water meter boxes so municipality will set meters
13. Ensure job site cleanliness
14. Attend and perform inspections

Education:  

We're looking for students currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management with an interest in residential construction.
