Job Summary:
The Proposal Writing Manager will lead the development of Requests for Information (RFI) and Proposals (RFP). In this role, they will manage the proposal process and write compelling responses that illustrate the SmithRx value proposition to potential clients, consultants, and benefit brokers. The Proposal Writing Manager will interface with internal teams across the organization (Sales, Analytics, Clinical, Legal, Account Management, etc.) to gain an in-depth understanding of SmithRx to accurately represent services. This role will also oversee building and maintaining a repository of responses and questionnaires. In the RFP off-season, the Proposal Writing Manager will cross-train and contribute to other areas of SmithRx that are in need, such as implementation or contracting.

What you will do:
- Manage and lead a team of Proposal Writers, overseeing the RFP and RFI processes, serving as the central point of contact for coordinating and consolidating proposal drafts from all contributors
- Manage the full lifecycle of proposal development, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions
- Assist sales teams by writing and editing proposals that clearly communicate the company’s value proposition
- Communicate effectively with Sales regarding proposal readiness and provide submission materials with well-crafted, informative messages
- Collaborate with the Strategy, Revenue, Sales, Marketing, Account Management and other teams to gather and track down responses to RFP questions that aren’t readily available
- Partner with internal subject matter experts to prepare accurate and persuasive proposals while meeting all deadlines
- Review, edit, and rewrite proposal drafts to ensure a consistent voice and polished final product
- Maintain and continuously improve a catalog of responses and documentation for future use
- Independently manage tasks and multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Track and manage sales deliverables status in Salesforce
- Support other departments such as implementation or contracting during the RFP off-season (typically October – December)
What you will bring to SmithRx:
- 5+ years of RFI/RFP experience and 2-3 years of management experience, preferably within the pharmacy benefit management (PBM) or healthcare industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring and developing Proposal Writers.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
- Clear and concise writing skills
- Experience with Excel, Salesforce and Adobe
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
