About the Role:
The Paralegal will be the primary point of contact for legal requests at Snap! and own the Legal intake process from request through completion, working cross-functionally with internal teams and outside counsel as needed. This role will work closely with attorneys, business partners, internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and vendors to coordinate legal matters, facilitate timely resolution of requests, and ensure that legal processes are organized, efficient, and appropriately documented.
The Paralegal will have broad responsibility for supporting the company’s legal and corporate needs, with a significant focus on contract administration and legal operations. This includes coordinating the drafting, review, negotiation, execution, and ongoing management of a wide range of agreements; maintaining contract and legal matter tracking systems; monitoring key dates and obligations; and partnering with business teams to obtain the information and approvals necessary to move matters forward and mitigate risk.
In addition to contracts, this role will support a variety of corporate legal functions, including intellectual property matters, insurance renewals, state business registrations, legal notices, claims and litigation coordination, outside counsel management, and compliance-related requests such as HECVATs. The Paralegal will also assist with legal department budget administration, including tracking outside counsel spend and invoices, and will help maintain accurate records and reporting to support informed decision-making by the Legal team.
This is a Full-Time, Hybrid (WFH/Austin, TX) position.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently draft, review, and revise contracts and related legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Assist attorneys in contract negotiations by preparing summaries, tracking changes, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain an organized contract management system, including filing, indexing, and monitoring key dates such as renewals and expirations.
- Conduct legal research related to contract terms, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to support contract drafting and risk assessment.
- Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary information and approvals for contract execution and
- Prepare reports and maintain records of contract status, obligations, and compliance issues for management review.
- Support the legal team in ad hoc projects related to contract administration and compliance initiatives.
- Facilitate clear and professional interactions with attorneys, business partners, and vendors to resolve contract issues and negotiate terms.
- Manage intellectual property (IP) matters, including application preparation and filing, portfolio tracking, renewals, and related documentation.
- Manage insurance renewals, documentation, and related legal requirements.
- Coordinate legal notices, claims, and litigation matters, including communication with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
- Manage state business registrations, filings, and registered agent management.
- Create and sustain relationships with outside counsel, legal partners, and vendors.
- Maintain legal matter tracking and reporting systems.
- Coordinate HECVATs and related legal, privacy, security, and compliance requests.
- Support legal department budget management, including tracking outside counsel spend, invoices, and legal expenditures.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working as a paralegal with a focus on contracts or corporate law.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, legal terminology, and standard contract provisions
- Proficiency in using contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred.
- Paralegal certification from an accredited organization such as NALA or NFPA preferred.
- Experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm specializing in contracts.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and risk management related to contracts.
- Advanced skills in legal research tools and contract lifecycle management platforms.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain contract databases and track critical deadlines, preventing lapses in compliance.
