JOB SUMMARY:
The Director, Engagement Strategy will lead the development and implementation of innovative engagement strategies for Snow’s clients as part of the Strategy and Insights team. This role requires strong decision-making, multitasking, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment, along with expertise in pharmaceutical regulations, FDA compliance, social media, analytics, and project management tools.
Responsibilities include collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, integrating patient and caregiver perspectives into engagement strategies, and scaling insights to grow the department. The Director will also manage a team of strategists, leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to optimize patient brand engagement and drive better health outcomes.
A key leader in Snow’s patient-focused business, this role demands empathy, strong communication skills, and the ability to embed patient experiences into strategic solutions. The Director, Engagement Strategy reports to Strategy and Insights leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement engagement strategies that align with client needs, patient experiences, and industry trends
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, clients, partners, and vendors to drive impactful engagement solutions
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of strategists, ensuring high performance and alignment with business goals
• Data-driven Decision-making: Utilize qualitative and quantitative insights to inform patient-centric engagement approaches and optimize brand interactions
• Industry Expertise: Stay current with pharmaceutical, FDA regulatory, and compliance changes, as well as evolving digital, social media, and customer interaction landscapes
• Patient-centered Approach: Integrate the perspectives of patients and caregivers into strategic initiatives, fostering empathy-driven solutions

PATIENT PRIVACY:
The core of our business is working with patients. It is most likely that you will come in contact with personally identifiable information (PII) and personal health information (PHI) of patients living with chronic illnesses. The Director, Engagement Strategy will be required to successfully complete and adhere to training courses which may include, but are not limited to:
• Snow Policies and Procedures
• Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements such as the Privacy Rule, the Security Rule, and Sunshine Act reporting
• Adverse Event (AE) Reporting
• Privacy and Data Security
• The promotional requirements for pharmaceuticals under the FDA and FTC and other applicable federal or state regulations
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director, Engagement Strategy must be able to perform the following essential duties and functions:
• Support Strategy and Insights leadership on the continuous improvement of the department’s offerings, tools, and training autonomously with high-level vision and with limited direction
• Draft proposal slides with supervisor direction and oversight and present autonomously to client
• Assist with the development of pricing to determine the overall cost of projects
• Partner with Project Managers to develop thoughtful project plans to effectively manage project timelines and assist with overall team resource planning
• Serve as a mentor and strategic guide to junior staff while providing oversight to ensure deliverables meet client objectives
• Set up and implement standard processes for various client requests
• Demonstrate strong communication, management skills, and organization
• Train other team members on internal processes, documentation needs, and new initiatives
• Interact with business owners and work through submissions/issues using business experience along with analytics and communication skills to meet deadlines and achieve a high level of customer service
• Coordinate and translate the clients’ objectives into strategic communications direction for client-facing projects
• Develop marketing, social media, and/or digital strategies as dictated by your concentration to include audience development, objective and KPI setting, content planning, site mapping or program architecture, and site tagging to deliver a fleshed-out deliverable to leadership and coach others in these skill sets
• If concentrated on digital media, oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of targeted media buys
• If concentrated on digital media, oversee the creation of social media content, from conception to shooting to editing to launch
• If concentrated on digital media, evaluate SEO for existing sites and create plans for new SEO projects
• Use excellent writing skills and independent judgment to write discussion guides and condense information quickly in order to present analyses and conclusions in an efficient, logical manner
• Attend remote meetings for regular check-ins with the Strategy lead and teammates, and collaborate on projects with other internal and external stakeholders to structure project approaches, kick off projects, brainstorm, create content (e.g. slides, video, and imagery), and present findings
• Provide internal and external performance measurement reporting and/or research findings to Account Teams, clients, VPs, and C-level executives
• Independently own projects until completion, follow multi-step plans without guidance, and accept accountability for project outcomes
• Partner with internal groups to ensure insights are used toward current projects in the queue and/or to create new projects for optimization
• Foster innovation and pioneer new processes and projects
• Help foster an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
• Keep up to date with any legal changes or shifts in the healthcare or digital advertising industries as well as any social media or digital platform policy and functionality changes; as requested, research best practices for social engagement and promotions in pharmaceuticals
• Demonstrate thought leadership and write pieces for internal and external consumption based on new trends or changes in the regulatory environment that affect patient engagement
The Director, Engagement Strategy may be asked to perform additional duties and responsibilities consistent with those listed above based upon business needs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge:
• Regulations and Compliance Standards: Understand compliance standards relevant to business-critical technology solutions, such as HIPAA for personal health information (PHI)
• Industry Knowledge: Possess awareness of the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, including medical education and industry regulations. Understand marketing fundamentals and media channels.
Skills:
• Technical Skills: Understand data visualizations and dashboarding tools
• Communication and Presentation Skills: Prepare and present presentations and correspondence effectively and professionally. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Analytical and Problem-solving Skills: Consistently identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Possess strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and the ability to make sound recommendations and decisions based on data and prior experience.
• Computer Skills: Possess excellent skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Analytics, and Salesforce.

• Collaboration and Flexibility: Demonstrate willingness and ability to work in collaboration with people in other departments and to adapt to shifting business needs and schedules
• Reasoning and Interpretation: Deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and to interpret a variety of instructions. Be capable of applying industry benchmarks to create standardized practices.
• Empathy and Patient Interaction: Possess discretion and empathy in working with patients living with chronic conditions, exercising patient privacy awareness
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BS in Marketing, Business, Statistics, or other qualified areas and five years of experience in pharmaceutical industry; or 10 years of equivalent experience.
