It’s how we stay driven, supportive, and always one step ahead as AI reshapes our world.

Why this role?

As Director, Engineering for Platform at Snyk, you will build and run a world-class engineering organization dedicated to solving technically challenging problems in our core platform and internal developer tooling. You will lead your teams to innovate strongly, deliver predictably, and delight Snyk's engineers and, by extension, our customers.

You'll be a technical leader who thrives on the details of building robust, scalable internal systems and developer experience tools, while simultaneously leading and growing your team to operate at scale. You'll be equally adept at explaining our internal platform roadmap to engineering stakeholders, making strategic trade-offs to deliver the right outcomes for our business, and providing hands-on technical guidance to solve complex architectural challenges.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define and drive a long-term platform strategy that optimizes for internal developer velocity and system reliability.
  • Own the internal platform and developer tooling as a core business enabler, making strategic trade-offs to maximize benefit for our engineering organization.
  • Lead and grow a high-performing engineering organization of 30-50+ individuals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with senior technical leaders and product managers to resolve complex technical issues and architectural risks.
  • Establish clear success criteria and KPIs for your direct reports and the entire platform group.
  • Serve as a role model, mentor, and advisor to Snyk’s most senior engineering talent, championing best practices in platform engineering.
  • Influence the Snyk product and platform roadmap to support business growth and technical innovation.

What You Bring:

  • You bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in technical leadership roles in software engineering.
  • You have proven experience in a director-level role managing teams for 5 years.
  • You have demonstrated success in leading platform engineering or developer experience organizations of 30-50+ individuals.
  • You are an expert in building and operating internal platforms, foundational services, and developer tooling.
  • You are proficient in system architecture, distributed systems design, and operational excellence for high-volume, critical infrastructure.
  • You have exceptional leadership and influencing skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

It’d Be Awesome If You Also…

  • Have experience integrating acquired technologies onto a unified platform.
  • Bring a strong strategic mindset, capable of anticipating future needs and visualizing the long-term evolution of a complex engineering platform.
  • Contribute to open-source or developer communities.
