Sales Development Representative - Public Sector (Boston or DC required)

Boston

Snyk is the leader in secure AI software development, helping millions of developers develop fast and stay secure as AI transforms how software is built. Our AI-native Developer Security Platform integrates seamlessly into development and security workflows, making it easy to find, fix, and prevent vulnerabilities — from code and dependencies to containers and cloud.

Our mission is to empower every developer to innovate securely in the AI era — boosting productivity while reducing business risk. We’re not your average security company - we build Snyk on One Team, Care Deeply, Customer Centric, and Forward Thinking.

It’s how we stay driven, supportive, and always one step ahead as AI reshapes our world.

Why this role?

We’re not your average security company - we build Snyk on:

One Team, Care Deeply, Customer Centric, and Forward Thinking. It’s how we stay driven, supportive, and always one step ahead as AI reshapes our world.

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) focused on the Public Sector, you’ll be a crucial part of our mission to make the digital world a safer place. You'll join a team that’s at the forefront of generating new business opportunities with a focus on federal government agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Treasury. This is an exciting and impactful opportunity to help shape how these critical organizations build and secure software at scale as they adopt cutting-edge, AI-native development practices.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead high-volume prospecting efforts through cold calling, emails, and LinkedIn to generate net new business in the public sector.

  • Leverage our AI-powered tools and platforms like Salesloft, Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Zoominfo to identify and engage with key stakeholders at federal agencies.

  • Collaborate with our Public Sector Account Executives to schedule and prepare for introductory meetings.

  • Use your understanding of the public sector landscape to articulate the value proposition of Snyk’s products and help agencies find, fix, and prevent vulnerabilities—from code to cloud.

  • Help shape the way government organizations adopt secure development practices and embed security into every part of the AI-native development lifecycle.

What You Bring:

  • You are resilient, ambitious, and have a track record of continually exceeding your goals.

  • You have an interest in starting a career in sales with a cybersecurity industry leader.

  • You pride yourself on being a great communicator and have the ability to build strong, meaningful relationships.

  • You are passionate about technology and security and enjoy collaborating on a diverse, high-performing team.

It’d Be Awesome If You Also…

  • Have a strong understanding of or an interest in the public sector landscape, especially federal procurement processes or the missions of DHS, HHS, or the Treasury.

  • Have hands-on experience with modern security or developer tools.

  • Contribute to open-source or developer communities.

  • Love solving complex problems with a collaborative team.

  • Have a sense of humor — we take our mission seriously, but not ourselves!
