Privacy Analyst

Vancouver, Canada (Remote)

SOCi, the CoMarketing Cloud for Multi-Location Enterprises, is currently looking for an experienced Privacy Analyst to join the Information Security team. As the Privacy and GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) Analyst, you will play a vital role in ensuring our compliance with global privacy and compliance  laws and regulations applicable to a B2B SaaS company. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and assist in the development and implementation of privacy and compliance programs and initiatives.

SOCi expects to pay a base salary in the range of $66,216 to $101,689 CAD. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Assist in developing and implementing privacy programs that align with global privacy laws and regulations.
  • Support efforts to ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), HIPAA, and other relevant regulations such as state and federal laws impacting the MarTech/AdTech Industry.
  • Assist in assessing and monitoring privacy risks associated with data collection, storage, and processing, and contribute to strategies for risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with legal, procurement, product, and engineering teams to integrate privacy controls and practices into the organization's products and services.
  • Participate in privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) to identify and address potential privacy risks.
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining privacy policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure adherence to privacy laws and best practices.
  • Support the delivery of privacy training programs to enhance employees' awareness and understanding of privacy requirements.
  • Responding to privacy-related inquiries from internal teams, customers, partners, and regulatory authorities.
  • Stay informed about emerging privacy trends, regulations, and industry best practices and provide input to update privacy programs accordingly.
  • Collaborate with compliance team members and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Assist in supporting governance, risk and compliance activities in information security and artificial intelligence governance.
  • Assist in coordinating external audits by assembling and managing document requests and working with auditors to answer questions.
  • Be willing to adapt to changes in the job description as deemed necessary by the business and accept all other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need to be Successful

Hybrid Opportunity: This role is fully remote until our Vancouver, BC office is established. Once the office is in place, it will transition to a hybrid model, with a 50/50 split between remote and in-office work.

Must Have:  

  • 2-5 years of experience in a privacy or compliance-related role in a corporate setting.
  • Basic knowledge of global privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other relevant privacy frameworks such as state and federal laws impacting the MarTech/AdTech Industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional groups.

Desired Skills (but not required):  

  • Professional certifications such as CIPM, CIPP, CIPTor equivalent. 
    • Or willingness to obtain such certifications within 1-2 years.
  • Prior experience with privacy and GRC tools such as Drata and Securiti.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
