Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Senior QA Analyst to help raise the quality bar in one of our live games. You’ll be embedded in a cross-functional feature team, working alongside developers, UX/UI designers, product managers and vendor teams, where your ownership, initiative, communication, analysis and critical thinking will be essential.
With deep QA, technical and project expertise, you'll be responsible for driving quality the feature team, owning testing strategies and ensuring testing best practices are followed across internal and vendor teams. You’ll be hands-on with manual testing, while also mentoring others and continuously improving our QA processes.
What You'll do:
- Design and maintain test strategies, regression plans, cross-feature plans and test cases covering manual, non-functional and possibly automation.
- Own the testing execution across multiple features simultaneously, ensuring delivery within scope, time and quality standards.
- Communicate complex issues and solutions in a clear and concise manner.
- Actively identify test coverage gaps and continuously improve quality and efficiency
- Guide and mentor more junior team members and/or external vendor teams (task estimation, coordination and prioritization).
- Keep QA documentation up to date and accessible.
- Collaborate and share knowledge between other QA teams across the organization
What You Bring:
- Strong experience working in a game studio, ideally within cross-functional feature teams.
- Strong initiative and ability to communicate proactively; always looking for new and better solutions to existing challenges.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, proactive in surfacing issues, ideas and improvements.
- Experience leading and coordinating external QA teams to execute test strategies effectively.
- Expert understanding of QA methodologies and terminology, particularly in mobile games.
- Deep understanding of test strategy optimization and risk-based testing.
- Strong experience participating in agile rituals such as sprint planning, retrospectives and estimations.
- Familiarity with test management and task tracking tools, preferably TestRail and Jira.
- Experience testing on pre-production and prototyping phases.
- Solid knowledge of QA workflows in LiveOps.
- Comfortable collaborating with disciplines like engineering, product and UX/UI departments.
Bonus Points:
- ISTQB/ISEB Foundation certifications or equivalent certifications
- Experience working on mobile platforms: iOS, Android, and Amazon
- Experience testing client/server interactions
- Understanding of how software architecture influences the amount of testing required, including optimizing tests that use the same code paths.
- Familiarity with development environments such as Xcode, Visual Studio, Android SDK, Unity, Unreal or similar
- Familiarity with source control and branchings, such as GIT or SVN
- Experience of technical areas and tooling: Network tools, Performance tools,
- Analytics tools, API test tooling, Automation frameworks, device farms or similar
- Unity experience specifically testing or automation
