The SSRC is seeking a program assistant to support program operations across the organization.   The Program Assistant will work closely with program staff to organize meetings, workshops, and conferences related to fellowships and project development.  The role involves coordinating logistics, assisting with data, and reporting, supporting knowledge-based efforts to enhance program effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, implementation and evaluation of programs and projects
  • Provide logistical support for virtual and in-person conferences, workshops, and meetings (e.g., travel, accommodations, catering, Zoom management, and crafting agendas)
  • Serve as a primary contact for program-related questions and correspondence
  • Manage database and electronic files for applicants, grantees, and other contacts
  • Process payments requests, tracking expenses, and assisting with budget monitoring
  • Administrative tasks, including, but not limited to, file maintenance, preparing meeting materials, and creating and maintaining databases and spreadsheets
  • Writing for, and assisting with, regular grant reports and applications
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, financial procedures, and funder requirements
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (social sciences, non-profit management, public administration, or related field)
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize daily activities to meet competing deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office (including MS Word and MS Excel) and general comfort with a contemporary office computing environment, including virtual workspaces
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with social media applications and content creation
  • Ability and willingness to travel to conferences and events

Terms, Salary, and Benefits

Annual salary is $52,000. Comprehensive benefits include health, dental, vision, disability, life, and gym reimbursement; annual tuition and/or student loan reimbursement; outstanding pension plan and tax savings programs; generous vacation and sick leave; and more.

This position is based in New York City, with the option to work from home or the SSRC office.
