Geospatial Project Manager (Remote – Home-Based)
Sol Aerial Surveys – a rapidly growing fixed-wing aerial acquisition company – is seeking an experienced Geospatial Project Manager to join our Flight Operations team.

The Role
As Geospatial Project Manager, you will own a group of aircraft and flight crews, ensuring every aerial mapping mission is completed safely, on schedule, and on budget. This is a true operations-meets-project-management position that sits at the center of flight crews, maintenance, weather, clients, and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the daily point of contact and tasking authority for assigned pilots and sensor operators
- Continuously monitor weather across multiple project areas and adjust plans accordingly
- Coordinate aircraft staging, FBO arrangements, hangar space, and maintenance windows nationwide
- Maximize aircraft availability in partnership with Maintenance and Flight Operations leadership
- Translate client deliverables into clear, achievable daily flight and capture objectives
- Support crews in the field via satellite comms and real-time decision making
- Ensure strict adherence to company SOPs, FAA regulations, and our industry-leading safety culture
- Maintain accurate project records and keep clients informed and satisfied
What You Bring
Required
- Legal right to work in the United States with unrestricted domestic and international travel ability
- Deep understanding of aerial survey / aerial mapping operations and aviation best practices
- Proven ability to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced, weather-dependent environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences)
Strongly Preferred
- 1+ years of management experience
- 1+ years in aerial survey / geospatial data acquisition
- FAA Commercial Pilot certificate (or higher) or Sensor Operator Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Project Management certification (PMP preferred)
- Background in aviation safety programs / SMS
