Financial analyst intern (d/f/m) at Solaris

Your Role 

  • Understanding of Solaris’ full product suite incl. all revenue & direct costs drivers and their respective impact on business performance.
  • Supporting the budget tracking against actuals including the responsibility for monthly and ad-hoc performance reviews with leadership and cost center owners.
  • Supporting the budget planning process for Solaris Group with a focus on the operating expense for individual product groups, functions and individual countries.
  • Closely helping the team to coordinate the monitoring and steering of the workforce development by documenting changes (vacancies, new position requests, internal changes) to manage all compensation-related expenses in line with the business need.
  • Support and carry on strategic projects within the Planning and Controlling teams.

 Hard skills:

  • Education with B. Sc. or M. Sc. in Economics, Finance, Business, Mathematics is preferred. Specialization in Controlling or Accounting is a plus.
  • Previous internships as a Financial analyst intern, M&A intern, Investment banking intern, Private equity intern, preferably with touchpoints of the whole P&L statement.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting standards (especially HGB and IFRS) is a strong plus and banking knowledge/expertise is preferred.
  • Financial modelling skills required.
  • Knowledge of the main office automation IT tools (in particular Microsoft Excel and Power Point), and knowledge of programming languages ​​(such as VBA, Python or SQL)
  • Professional fluency in English in both speaking and writing: German is a significant plus.

Soft skills:

  • Your entrepreneurial hands-on and can-do mentality with exceptional analytical expertise and the greatest attention to detail.
  • Interest in FinTech and Financial Services is a strong plus and experience in dealing with auditors and regulators is beneficial
  • Strongly beneficial previous experience in Investment banking, Private equity or M&A.
  • At the same time, you are a strong team player and an effective communicator, who can operate in a diverse team, cross-functionally, takes ownership and demonstrates self-initiative.
