VP, Creative Director - Global NPL

The position will report to the Global Chief Creative Director

 Role Overview

 You’re a well-qualified Creative Director with a robust background in Beauty and a Brand Building mindset. In this role you will Develop Forward-Thinking Category Based Creative for NPL + Product Resupport under the leadership of the Global Chief Creative Director and in partnership with the Creative Director, Global Brand Voice. Flawlessly lead a 10+ person Category Team with oversight across all Art + Design functions including Photography, Film, NPL launch Campaign Ideation, GTM 360 Campaign Execution and Category Based Resupport Campaigns that scale the Brand across all channels and all touchpoints, globally. You will be supported in this role by two Associate Creative Directors and a team of Senior Art Directors and Designers.

Key Responsibilities:

CREATIVE DIRECTION, DEVELOPMENT, & CONCEPTING:

  • Must be located in NYC or Surrounding areas
  • Define and lead Category based Creative for Sol de Janeiro, focusing on brand-enhancing, immersive visual content that aligns with the company’s Strategic Vision, Prestige Positioning, and vibrant ethos.
    • Deep dive into Brazilian Art, History, and Cultural DNA to learn the brand heritage and integrate it thoughtfully into all aspects of content creation and campaign thematic
  • Develop, oversee, and Produce Omni-channel Visual Creative, Collaborate with CD Global Brand Voice to identify ownable Creative Territories and Lead Design team from concept to execution creating break-thru campaigns that cross all channels and all touchpoints, globally.
    • Stay on top of all trends and use performance-driven data – for the industry, the audience and channel. Expertly marry insights from Brand Strategy, Consumer Insights and Product Teams into forward-thinking, consumer-first concepts.
    • Train, mentor and guide all teams to meet the evolving needs of Brand Visual Standards. Empower teams to work cross-functionally with peers across all disciplines.
    • Extend in-house leadership duties to external partners and agencies to ensure all work fits Global Brand standards.
    • Mentor and inspire teams to perform at the top of their abilities and foster growth in the collective ability of the team to think differently and more broadly about their work.
    • Champion creative problem-solving and develop a reputation for being a collaborative and solutions-oriented team.
    • Lead by example and demonstrate the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback on work. Demonstrate expertise in extracting constructive feedback and actionable next steps from that which is not entirely clear.
  • Maintain effective management of partner, stakeholder, and internal team relationships, ensuring goal alignment and cohesive collaboration.
    • Collaborate with Project Management and Cross-functional partners to identify questions and pertinent information needed to Execute on an Assignment level and to pro-actively improve Copy process and quality of Creative output.
    • Work with Project Managers to assign work. Assure that creative work meets brief objectives and follows strategies aligned with the brief before it goes up for review.
    • Meet all timelines and ensure delivery of executions for stakeholder review. Manage expectations cross-functionally when timelines are not favorable to processes and executional excellence.
  • Lead, maintain and grow production capabilities within SDJ in-house studio, Rio Hub team and in instance where outside production is needed
    • Onboard all team members into Shoot Standards, processes, and best practices for the department to execute more shoots without needing to be the shoot lead
    • Work very closely with ACDs, SADs, photographers, and producers to approve details of shoots to ensure execution ladders up to concept, vision, and forward-thinking brand goals

 

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must be located in NYC and surrounding areas
  • 15+ Years experience working on integrated, cross-channel Creative across all Visual Disciplines (photography + film concepting, campaign concept development, 360 Omni-channel campaign execution), Beauty Experience Required. Global Brand Experience Required.
  • 7+ Years in High Visibility Leadership Role with proven experience as having been an influential player within multidisciplinary leadership team.
  • Minimum: BA/BS Degree in Art + Design, Graphic Communications.
  • Celebrated people manager, inspiring mentor, and proven team builder.
    • Reference checks on Management abilities will be performed.
  • Body of work demonstrating expertise in creating ground up 360 Omni-channel Campaign Concepts (that have been executed, no pitch only portfolios will be reviewed).
  • Excellent public speaking, presentation, and listening skills. Ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely and expertly tailor comms style to audience needs.
  • Experience leading External Agencies toward Creative Output that complies with Global Brand Guidelines.
  • A career history demonstrating the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that is aligned with the pace of a high-growth company.
    • You have an inherent entrepreneurial spirit and know how to align teams from top to bottom to organize and move work forward.
    • You are a beauty aficionado, but you draw inspiration and identify Creative Insights from all consumer categories and understand the fluidity between the immediate consumer landscape and larger cultural ecosystem the brand exists within.

Salary Range

$250,000 - $280,000 USD

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
