Packaging Development Coordinator

The Packaging Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Packaging Development Team in the team’s functions of packaging development, testing, and implementation of new packaging solutions. This role involves coordinating between design teams, Marketing, Operations, suppliers, managing quality standards, budget constraints, managing documentation, coordinating schedules, and assisting with project tracking to facilitate the development of innovative packaging solutions.

This role will report to the Executive Director, Package Development. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Project Coordination: Assist in the management of packaging development projects from concept to production, ensuring timelines and milestones are met.
    • Supplier Liaison: Coordinate with suppliers to source materials and components, ensuring they meet the required specifications and quality standards by helping manage this library of standards.
    • Testing and Validation: Assist in the planning and execution of packaging tests to validate performance, durability, and compliance with industry standards.
    • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of packaging specifications, test results, project progress, and any changes to design or materials.
    • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with product development, marketing, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure packaging solutions align with overall project goals.
    • Cost Management: Assist in the evaluation of packaging costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
    • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing efforts to improve packaging processes.
    • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the packaging development team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing travel arrangements.
    • Documentation Management: Maintain and organize all documentation related to packaging projects, including specifications, test reports, and regulatory compliance records.
    • Project Coordination: Assist in tracking project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure projects stay on schedule.
    • Communication: Act as a liaison between the packaging development team and other departments, suppliers, and stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication.
    • Data Entry: Enter and update information in databases and project management systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Report Preparation: Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation as needed to support the packaging development team.
    • Inventory Management: Assist in tracking and managing inventory of packaging materials and supplies.
    • Quality Assurance: Support the team in maintaining quality standards by organizing and documenting test results and feedback.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: 1-3+ years of experience in packaging coordinator or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with packaging design software (e.g., ArtiosCAD, Topps, CAPE) and an understanding of packaging materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Project Management: Basic project management skills with the ability to assist in managing multiple projects.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Must be comfortable being in office up to 5 days a week

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Salary Range

$70,000 - $80,000 USD

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
