What You’ll Do

As the Vice President, Global Product Marketing, Promotion and Merchandise + Special Projects, you will own the global promotions and gifting business category end-to-end, from strategy through execution. This is a highly visible, critical leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering the promotional and gifting roadmap that fuels consumer acquisition, loyalty, and incremental growth. You will set the vision, lead the strategy, and inspire the team to craft best-in-class programs that redefine how beauty promotions and gifting drive engagement in the prestige category. 

 You will be accountable for bringing bold, creative, and commercially powerful promo and gifting concepts to life—from holiday programs to limited-edition sets, sampling, merchandise, and gift-with-purchase. Above all, you will ensure Sol de Janeiro’s gifting strategy is not just competitive, but industry-leading. 

 This role reports to the SVP, Global Product Marketing and leads a team of 3. 

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Promotional Strategy and Execution: 

    • Lead the development and execution of promotional strategies and initiatives, including holiday, limited edition sets, sampling programs and gift with purchase promotions. 
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to create compelling promotional offers and activations that drive consumer acquisition and sales and that are aligned with retailer specific strategies. 
    • Monitor and analyze promotional performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to optimize promotional effectiveness. 
    • Work cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution of promotional initiatives, including execution of program development, creative briefs, campaign needs, and promotional messaging. 

    Merchandise Planning and Optimization: 

    • Develop and execute strategic merchandise plans for the global brand for all merch items including saleable merch and launch support merch and influencer mailers, ensuring alignment with brand vision, consumer preferences, and market demands. 
    • Collaborate with procurement, external partners, agencies and vendors to explore new merchandise innovation opportunities, including product design, costing, and coordination for execution. 
    • In partnership with Global Consumer Engagement, spearhead collaborations with fashion, creative, and entertainment entities to design and launch trendsetting limited-edition products that captivate our global audience. 
    • Collaborate with internal teams to assess merch needs and new opportunities.  
    • Utilize consumer insights, market trends, and competitive analysis to inform assortment decisions and identify growth opportunities within the category. 

    Special projects: 

    • You will be responsible for special projects such as sampling, visual merchandising, line edit. 

    Team Leadership and Development: 

    • Lead and develop team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. 
    • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, facilitating their professional growth and development within the organization. 

Must Haves

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field required; MBA preferred. 
    • 12-15 years of experience in promotions, merchandise planning, or related roles within the beauty or consumer goods industry. Experience in fashion a plus. 
    • Proven track record of success in developing and executing strategic promotional, gifting and merchandise initiatives to drive sales and profitability. 
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage consumer insights and market data to inform decision-making and drive results. 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 
    • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience leading and developing high-performing teams. 
    • Must be comfortable working a hybrid schedule (3 days in our New York office per week).

Salary Range

$225,000 - $275,000 USD
