Chief of Staff
Chief of Staff to the CEO
SOL Mental Health
At SOL Mental Health, we're not just building another clinical practice – we're redefining what’s possible in mental healthcare, and that starts with exceptional people like you. As an early-phase organization with ambitious goals, we offer something rare: the chance to truly own your function and make a lasting impact on an industry that desperately needs innovation.
Your Contributions Matter
We understand that exceptional mental healthcare requires more than just talented clinicians. It demands a foundation of operational excellence, innovative thinking, and robust support systems—areas where your expertise becomes invaluable.
At SOL, you'll find:
- True ownership opportunities in a growing organization where your ideas can become organizational standards
- Direct access to passionate executive leadership committed to building both an exceptional service and an exceptional workplace
- Career development pathways that evolve as we grow, with opportunities emerging faster than in established organizations
- Cross-functional collaboration that exposes you to multiple aspects of healthcare innovation and practice management
The Opportunity
We are building a different kind of mental health care organization. One that combines clinical excellence, operational rigor, and a deeply human approach to care. As we scale, the questions we face are increasingly complex and the opportunity to create meaningful impact continues to grow.
We are seeking a Chief of Staff to the CEO to help answer key questions and turn the answers into action.
The Chief of Staff is a highly analytical, structured problem solver who is ready to move from advising to owning. You will be motivated by a drive to turn ambiguity into clarity, whether through highly analytical explorations of strategic questions or by building net new processes, systems or solutions in the business. You are someone who moves with urgency, encouraged by a supportive team culture grounded in high expectations and a conviction to build something that matters.
Role Description
You will operate as a close partner to the CEO and a trusted collaborator to the leadership team. Involved in SOL’s most important decisions, you will help identify where we should invest, operationalize key initiatives, and evaluate performance vs. targeted ROI.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy, finance, and operations, with direct exposure to company leadership, board-level discussions, and the core drivers of growth and clinical impact.
Drive Strategic Insight and Prioritization
- Frame and analyze the most critical strategic questions facing the business, alongside the CEO, CFO, and broader executive team
- Partner with the CEO, CFO, and leadership team to evaluate opportunities for growth and impact
- Build structured, data-driven analyses and recommendations to inform decision-making
Implement Key Operational Initiatives
- Translate strategic priorities into clear, actionable plans
- Own launch and initial operationalization of specific initiatives (e.g., new service lines, new payor types) and ensure seamless handoff to market operations
- Drive accountability through defined success metrics and ROI targets accompanied by measurement of performance vs. Expectations
- Ensure initiatives are underpinned by repeatable workflows that deliver lasting operational impact
Create Structure in Ambiguity
- Bring clarity and organization to complex, evolving problems
- Build frameworks, processes, and tools that enable better and faster decision-making
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment where priorities may shift
Extend the CEO
- Own key leadership meetings with the CEO, including agenda setting, facilitation, and follow-through
- Partner with CEO and leadership team to prepare board materials
- Communicate effectively at all levels, from frontline clinicians to executive leadership and the board
Who You Are
- 3 to 7 years of experience in a high-performance environment, ideally at a top-tier management consulting, venture capital or private equity firm
- Bachelor’s Degree Required; MBA preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with a desire to measure everything that moves
- Strong business judgment with the ability to evaluate tradeoffs across growth, clinical quality, and operations
- Excellent communicator, capable of engaging audiences from frontline team members to board directors
- Highly collaborative, with the ability to influence without authority
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure where it does not yet exist
- Bias toward action with a track record of driving work to completion
What Sets You Apart
- You actively seek out opportunities to create value, not just respond to assigned problems
- You combine strategic thinking with a willingness to dive into execution
- You move quickly, but thoughtfully
- You are energized by working in a scaling, evolving organization
- You are motivated by the opportunity to improve access to high-quality mental health care
Compensation
Total cash compensation $165-230k, including competitive base and bonus and equity.
