Junior Backend Engineer

THE ROLE
Our engineering team creates the platform that powers the next generation of digital resonance. As a Junior Backend Engineer, you will work closely with a team of engineers, data scientists, and UX designers to help build and enhance Solsten's platform and products. This role is an excellent opportunity to learn and grow while contributing to meaningful projects. You’ll gain hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services while being mentored by experienced engineers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assist in designing and developing backend services and microservices using Go.
- Collaborate with the team to build scalable, high-performance systems.
- Write reusable and efficient code while adhering to best practices.
- Support the creation and optimization of database schemas.
- Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and brainstorming sessions.
- Continuously improve your knowledge of backend engineering and distributed systems.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic experience with backend development or a strong desire to grow in this area.
- Familiarity with programming languages like Go (preferred) or others such as Python, or Javascript
- Understanding of core software engineering concepts such as APIs, databases, and version control (e.g., Git).
- Eagerness to learn and work in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
- A passion for building user-centric, scalable systems.

Our team is spread out across the world, with hubs in Berlin, and Minneapolis. We believe that having our team close to one another fosters better communication and productivity. This role requires you to be based in Berlin, Germany where you will have an exciting working environment.
