
Staff/Senior Staff Product Manager Diagnostics

Sonatus is looking for a highly experienced and technically strong Staff/Senior Staff Product Manager to lead the strategy, definition, and execution of diagnostics solutions for modern software-defined vehicles (SDVs). This role is critical in shaping Sonatus’ next-generation vehicle diagnostics platform, enabling our customers to transition to intelligent diagnostics.
As a Staff/Senior Staff Product Manager - Diagnostics, you will work closely with OEMs, Tier1 suppliers, and ecosystem partners to develop cutting-edge diagnostics solutions. You will collaborate with engineering, product design, and quality assurance teams to build innovative, scalable, and differentiated solutions. Additionally, you will work with sales, marketing, and customers to define product-market fit, articulate product value, and support go-to-market initiatives.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in automotive diagnostics, experience working with ECU communication standards, and a strong understanding of production and after-sales workflows. You should be a structured problem solver, strategic thinker, and excellent communicator, capable of balancing technical depth with customer and business needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Define and execute the diagnostics product roadmap, aligning with industry trends, customer needs, and Sonatus’ vision for SDVs
- Lead product definition for diagnostics solutions, including UDS, DoIP, SOVD and cloud-based diagnostics workflows
- Leverage AI for intelligent diagnostic procedures
- Collaborate with OEMs and Tier1 suppliers to understand pain points and come up with creative solutions
- Engage with marketing and sales teams to develop compelling product messaging, positioning, and competitive differentiation
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in diagnostics, vehicle health monitoring, and automotive cybersecurity, shaping Sonatus’ long-term strategy
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of product management experience.
- Strong experience focused on automotive diagnostic systems
- Expertise in diagnostics standards such as, UDS, KWP, DoIP, and SOVD
- Good understanding of different E/E architectures, ECUs, software lifecycle, test cycle and release management and relevant IT systems.
- Strong understanding of after-sales or production workflows, including fault reporting, service campaigns, and dealer diagnostic tools.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear product requirements and business strategies.
- Wired to dive-in, learn, contribute, and get things done
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience with Vector tools such as CANoe, CANoe.DiVa or CANdelaStudio
- Familiarity with ODX, and CDD file formats for defining ECU diagnostic configurations.
- Knowledge in Ethernet networking protocols such as UDP, TCP, SOME/IP
- Experience with cloud-based diagnostics, data analytics, and AI-driven fault injection and detection.
- Track record of successfully launching automotive software products in highly regulated environments.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment while balancing long-term strategic vision with near-term execution.
The posted salary range is a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate of what Sonatus ("Company") could reasonably expect to pay for this position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs. The Company reserves the right to modify this range in the future, as needed, as market conditions change.

$165,000 - $266,000 USD
