Test Associate Engineer – SonicOS (Firewall QA & Automation)

Experience: Fresh Graduates (0–1 years)
Location: Pune
Product: SonicOS

Role Overview:

We are looking for enthusiastic fresh graduates who are passionate about Networking, Cybersecurity, AI/ML and Automation to join our SonicOS QA team.

As a Test Associate Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers to test next-generation firewall features, build automation scripts, and ensure high product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute functional and regression test cases for SonicOS features
• Learn and contribute to automation frameworks and test scripts
• Assist in converting manual test cases into automated tests
• Perform basic debugging using logs and tools like tcpdump/Wireshark
• Report defects clearly and track them using tools like JIRA
• Work with Dev and QA teams to validate fixes
• Participate in Agile/Scrum activities

Required Skills:

• Basic understanding of Networking concepts: TCP/IP, Routing, NAT, VLANs, TCP/UDP, L7 protocols such as FTP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, Telnet, SSH
• Fundamental knowledge of Cybersecurity/Firewalls (VPN, IPS, etc.)
• Programming knowledge in Python
• Familiarity with automation tools (any one: Selenium / Playwright / PyTest / Robot)
• Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix commands
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills

Good to Have (Optional)

• Exposure to packet analysis tools (Wireshark/tcpdump)
• Academic/project experience in networking or security
• Basic understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git)
• Awareness of AI tools for productivity

Soft Skills

• Strong willingness to learn and grow
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and curiosity to debug issues

Education:

• B.E / B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science / IT / Electronics or related fields
