Job Summary:
The in vivo Pharmacology intern will support the efforts of the in vivo Pharmacology team through the duration of the summer. Project will be dependent on priority but may include natural history study of genetic mouse-lines, sample collection for assay development, and/or dosing experiments to determine efficacy of therapeutic candidates.
How will this role contribute to the overall team goals and interface with others:
The summer intern will help support the functional goals of the in vivo Pharmacology group by contributing to a project deemed of high priority during the internship period. By supporting the specified project independently, the Pharmacology team will also be able to execute on other priorities. This role may also interface with our analytic group and/or a specific program team depending on the details of the project.
What You Will Accomplish:
The Intern, in vivo Pharmacology, will be expected to accomplish an independent project during the internship period. The experimental details will be determined based on current functional team goals, but the intern will be expected to contribute to experimental design, execute in vivo procedures, take comprehensive notes during experimental execution, and summarize findings. The intern may also interact with the analytical team to incorporate sample read-outs into a final summary.
Qualifications:
BS in biological sciences preferred; will consider undergraduates with upper division coursework in biological sciences and extensive laboratory experience
Technical Requirements and Skills:
Applicants should have extensive mouse handling experience, including multiple dosing techniques, and sampling collection. Experience with Prism software a plus. Candidates should have high attention to detail, demonstrate expectational organizational skills, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $30.00/hr (pursuing MS), $35.00 (pursuing PhD), and $27.00/hr for (pursuing bachelor's degree).
