Position Summary
SHMA is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing team in Culver City, C.A. As the Accountant at SHMA, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day general ledger (GL) activities, accounts payable (AP) processes, and assisting with the development of accounting policies and documentation. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the establishment of financial systems and processes in a dynamic, start-up environment.
Job Responsibilities

Support daily accounting operations, including GL entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Assist in preparing financial reports such as P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.

Contribute to the documentation and implementation of accounting policies and internal controls.

Assist the upcoming ERP implementation, focusing on GL, AP, and Inventory modules.

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant regulations.

Provide support for audits and tax filings by organizing and preparing necessary documentation.
Qualifications for Position
Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, with hands-on experience in GL and AP processes.

Familiarity with ERP systems (experience with Oracle preferred).

Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP/IFRS and accounting best practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred

Experience in an organization with a small but growing team.

Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP, specifically GL, AP, and Inventory modules.

Strong project management skills, particularly in ERP implementation or process improvement.

CPA or CMA certification (or working toward certification).

Familiarity with inventory accounting processes and multi-state tax compliance.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $90,000-$105,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
