Position Summary

Sony Honda Mobility of America (SHMA) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Parts Advisor Specialist to support our growing after-sales operations. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring parts availability, supporting service operations, and delivering an excellent customer experience for our new electric vehicle, AFEELA. 

As a Parts Advisor Specialist, you will serve as a primary point of contact for parts inquiries from service teams, manage parts orders and inventory tracking, and support internal logistics and coordination activities. The ideal candidate has experience in automotive parts distribution or dealership environments and thrives in a fast-paced, startup atmosphere. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day parts operations, including order entry, parts availability checks, and shipment tracking. 
  • Assist with the coordination and fulfillment of parts orders for SHMA service partners and internal teams. 
  • Respond to service team inquiries related to parts pricing, availability, substitutions, and logistics. 
  • Collaborate with logistics, warehouse, and supplier teams to ensure accurate and timely parts delivery. 
  • Support inventory audits and help maintain parts database accuracy, part number validation, and documentation. 
  • Monitor parts warranty claims and returns processes in coordination with warranty and service departments. 
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of SOPs for parts handling, documentation, and tracking. 
  • Provide administrative support for invoice reconciliation and purchase order processes related to parts purchases. 
  • Support the launch of new parts programs and ongoing optimization of the parts supply chain. 
  • Act as a key contact for internal cross-functional collaboration with Service Operations, Logistics, Warranty, and Quality teams. 

Required Qualifications for Position

  • 3+ years of experience in automotive parts operations, dealership parts departments, or OEM parts distribution. 
  • Strong knowledge of automotive components, service terminology, and inventory workflows. 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with a customer-first mindset. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace tools. 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, evolving environment. 
  • Attention to detail in documentation, tracking, and reporting processes. 

Preferred Qualifications for Position

  • Experience supporting EV service parts or working with OEM parts catalogs and ordering platforms. 
  • Familiarity with DMS systems, parts logistics software, or inventory management tools. 
  • Background working with technical service teams, warranty teams, or field service operations. 
  • Japanese language proficiency is a plus. 

Additional Details

  • Work Arrangement: This is an on-site position in Culver City, CA, transitioning to Torrance, CA in Fall 2025. 
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal, though occasional travel to other SHMA or vendor sites may be required. 
  • Visa Sponsorship: Not available for this position.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $65,000-$85,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
