Position Summary
Sony Honda Mobility of America (SHMA) is seeking a Senior IT Support Specialist to join our growing team in Fremont, CA. This role is critical to ensuring a seamless, high-quality technology experience for both onsite and remote employees across the organization.
As a senior-level individual contributor, you will provide hands-on technical support, partner closely with IT leadership on projects, and help scale IT operations to support a fast-growing, global organization. You will work across Windows and Mac environments, support collaboration and AV systems, and coordinate with Japan-based IT counterparts to maintain consistent global standards.
This role is ideal for an experienced IT professional who is customer-focused, technically strong, proactive, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, startup-like environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality IT support to onsite and remote employees, resolving technical issues efficiently and professionally
- Partner with IT managers and cross-functional teams to support new initiatives, projects, and IT requests
- Support employee onboarding by preparing hardware, configuring accounts, and ensuring day-one readiness
- Troubleshoot, configure, and maintain Windows 10/11 and macOS operating systems
- Support and maintain Lenovo, HP, and Apple hardware
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft Office 365 applications and related services
- Troubleshoot and support conference room audio-visual systems, including Yealink solutions
- Administer and support Verkada security camera systems
- Train end users on hardware, software, and collaboration tools to improve adoption and productivity
- Perform software updates and hardware upgrades as needed
- Document IT processes, procedures, and knowledge base materials to ensure consistency and scalability
- Collaborate with corporate IT teams in Japan on systems, standards, and global initiatives
- Stay current on IT support best practices, tools, and emerging technologies
Required Qualifications for Position
- 3 to 5 years of experience in an IT Support Specialist or similar role
- Strong experience supporting Windows 10/11 and macOS environments
- Deep understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and troubleshooting methodologies
- Proven customer service mindset with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users
- Experience supporting Microsoft Office 365 applications and backend infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with conference room AV systems
- Experience documenting IT processes and support procedures
- Ability to assess IT needs and train end users effectively
Preferred Qualifications for Position
- Experience supporting Verkada security camera systems
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, or ACSP
- Vendor certifications from Microsoft, Apple, Cisco, or similar providers
- Experience with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Japanese language skills or experience working with Japan-based teams

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $95,000-$105,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
