Senior Manager, Commercial and Value Optimization

Location: Virtual, remote worker location possible

Studio Business Group (SBG) is looking for Senior Manager, Commercial and Value Optimization a who will be responsible for review and optimization of games and projects across the portfolio of SBG titles and support goals and targets setting for titles and studio teams within the overall SBG portfolio. This is a role that operates on the junction of SGB Leadership team, studio teams and various functions and requires individual with strong commercial mindset, influencing skills and value judgement as well as ability to operate in dynamic way under changing circumstances and constraints remaining resilient to various stakeholder expectations. You will be part of a team whose role is to conduct commercial and value analysis on projects and opportunities in areas such as sales optimization, marketing spending efficiency, and business model strategy. You will collaborate across multiple finance and non-finance functions, bringing a data driven approach, market dynamic understanding, and P&L optimization mindset from top to bottom line. You will also work on portfolio-wide commercial projects advising on decision-making initiatives of SBG. We are looking for candidates who will have strong financial judgement skills and the ability to remain objective and resilient under stakeholder pressures.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of title profit and loss accounts and ensuring full end to end alignment or assumptions
  • Provide input and advice on setting goals and financial targets for titles within given constraints
  • Recommend financial targets for titles/studio on projects for revenue, opex and profitability as well as selected KPIs; this is for multiple processes such as project investment decisions, annual budgets and long-term strategic plans
  • Dynamically adjusting financial targets if material events occur that require rebalancing under new constraints
  • Commercial value optimization work on marketing spend efficiency, price setting, sales optimization, business model analysis
  • Perform commercial review projects across specific projects or across portfolio or its subset (e.g. price elasticity analysis, distribution strategy, etc.) and market analysis
  • Effectively collaborate with studios, finance, product management, marketing and sales, player insights and other functions ensuring right information, data and input is considered in pursuit of value optimization
  • Advise stakeholders across multiple disciplines from leadership team members to various functional teams
  • Develop and present results and recommendations to decision-making stakeholders in effective and influential way
  • Stay apprised of broader industry developments and key business metrics and industry trends and conduct benchmarking analysis of the gaming industry

Qualifications & Skills:

  • BA/BS in business, strategy, finance, economics or related field; MBA and/or CFA designation preferred
  • 8-10+ years of experience in strategic and financial planning, corporate strategy, business intelligence, management consulting or consumer insights
  • Experience in the gaming industry and/or interactive entertainment is an advantage
  • Experience in working on portfolio project and financial optimization gained through roles operating at intersection of business leadership and project delivery, for example, in portfolio optimization, business case analysis and target setting
  • Experience building complex financial models and developing strategic decision frameworks
  • Experience in value optimization for consumer businesses (e.g., marketing & sales) preferred
  • Ability to translate complex data and information into actionable objective insights and convey effectively through data visualization
  • Resilience under pressure, including from senior stakeholders
  • Self-starter, showing initiative and ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong work ethic and integrity a must
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under time constraints

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$162,100 - $243,100 USD
