Product Management Intern, Innovation - MBA or Master's

United States, Remote: this position must be performed in a fully remote capacity.

You’ll join a unique team that is chartered to explore new ways to transform and diversify our business into new areas with a focus on new customers needing new solutions, while remaining true to SIE’s central mission. We are passionate about the power of play (defined broadly) and being inspired by players and creators of all stripes.

We are looking for a creative, innovative Product Management Intern to join our innovation team! In this role you will be responsible for helping a cross-functional team of like-minded individuals create value for new kinds of customers that SIE has not traditionally served, taking new opportunities from 0→1. You’ll join a unique team that is chartered to explore new ways to transform and diversify our business into new areas with a focus on new customers needing new solutions, while remaining true to SIE’s central mission. You’ll work to discover valuable problems to solve for a variety of customers, collaborate to identify concepts that solve them in a way that creates opportunity for SIE, and help develop them towards investment and/or formal productization.

You should be passionate about learning through scrappy prototyping, testing, and experimentation, adept at using data to inform decision-making, and comfortable working through ambiguity with an ability to wear lots of hats.

Experience in customer and market research, new product incubation, product strategy & specification, and go-to-market planning is highly desired. A work or educational background in other product development disciplines such as design, software engineering, user research, or business development is a big plus. The ability to champion and promote new ideas is essential, as is the ability to be humble and leave them behind.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Research and propose new areas of exploration for customer needs and potential solutions within identified strategic themes
  • Synthesize market trends, customer insights, and informed hypotheses into requirements for further research and experiments
  • Contribute to development plans for experiments and prototypes
  • Help identify target customer profiles and segments through synthesis of research insights
  • Identify business opportunities via market sizing, value proposition, and creation of appropriate business models for solutions
  • Collaborate with designers and researchers to establish critical path jobs to be done for target customers of a product solution

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Pursuing a graduate degree with a business curriculum or entrepreneurial experience, with a projected graduation date of Spring 2026 
  • 3+ years of experience in product management—or relevant undergraduate and/or graduate education—with a focus on brand new product development or product incubation highly desired
  • Demonstrated history of creative problem solving and/or creative thinking, evidenced through work, school, or personal projects and experience.
  • An ambitious self-starter who deals well with ambiguity, able to be a generalist who can jump in and wear lots of hats to help the team develop an idea from scratch
  • Strong analytical abilities with ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems using experimentation and data
  • Highly collaborative and adaptable, able to quickly adjust direction based on new learnings or changing circumstances
  • Excellent communicator, able to inspire and excite team members and stakeholders around customer problems and solutions that are non-obvious
  • Solid business sense with basic abilities quantify an opportunity with imperfect or incomplete information

Eligibility:

  • Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.
  • Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.
  • Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.
  • Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. 

 

Intern Pay Range

$36 - $39.75 USD
