Role Overview:

As the Product Safety and Compliance Manager, based in London, you will join PlayStation’s Global Compliance Team, playing a vital role in ensuring our products meet regulatory and safety standards across the EMEA region. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of PlayStation’s regulatory and supply chain operations while contributing directly to the successful launch of our innovative products.

In this highly operational role, you will collaborate with key internal teams and external stakeholders across the Sony Group, acting as a critical partner in navigating complex compliance requirements. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining product safety and supporting PlayStation's commitment to delivering exceptional gaming experiences.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensure PlayStation products comply with all regulations, including Safety, EMC, Radio, and Energy Efficiency across multiple regions, including Europe, Customs Union, Middle East South Africa, India and Australia.
  • Lead certification processes for new product launches, coordinating with the Tokyo head office, local partners, testing labs and agencies to achieve timely approvals.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to incorporate compliance into the design and development process.
  • Develop and implement strategic approaches to meet all regulatory requirements for successful product launches.
  • Track changes to certification and test standards, ensuring documentation is current and products meet all compliance requirements until the end of life.
  • Build and refine compliance procedures and coordinate business optimization projects to improve efficiency.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal tracking to ensure regulatory compliance requirements are implemented throughout the business by the enforcement date.
  • Proactively communicate new requirements to cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Investigate Market Surveillance inquiries and manage non-compliance investigations, working with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Lead investigations into alleged safety incidents, conduct detailed analysis and implement corrective action. Train stakeholders in reporting systems and assist the legal department.
  • Foster a collaborative culture within the global product compliance team, ensuring regional consistency and alignment.
  • Conduct training sessions to educate internal teams on compliance standards and practices.

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree in Engineering or HTEC in Electronics or computer hardware-related field
  • Proven years of experience in one or more regulatory compliance fields (Safety, EMC, Radio testing and certification)
  • Product compliance experience relating to labeling, instruction manuals and packaging
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team
