About the Role:
As a Staff Software Engineer, Developer Experience at PlayStation, you will have the outstanding chance to craft and improve the developer experience for our engineering and IT staff. Join our Engineering Productivity Services team to define and develop automated workflows and streamlined processes that support engineers in their daily operations.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the "day in the life" of SIE's engineering and IT staff to identify areas for improvement in their daily experiences.
- Craft and develop automated solutions that reduce friction in the most common engineering and IT workflows.
- Build self-service applications and integrations for requirements outside the common workflows.
- Provide support to customers when technology requirements exceed existing automation and self-service options.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Extensive experience developing APIs, services, and/or tools in Go or similar languages.
- A deep understanding of engineering standard methodologies including requirement gathering and analysis, software design standards and experience with multiple technology stacks.
- Demonstrated experience developing against one or more developer experience tools, such as GitHub, Jenkins, Tilt, Docker Swarm, or Backstage/Cortex.
- Experience delivering and supporting applications with at least one cloud provider, such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a globally distributed team.
Live near the office for occasional in-person meetings and events, and work from home the rest of the time.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$175,000 - $262,400 USD
