IT DevOps – Senior Cloud Engineer

San Diego, CA 

Sony Interactive Entertainment is searching for a highly skilled candidate who has outstanding proficiency in supporting various corporate IT services. The ideal candidate will build, implement, and maintain infrastructure and services for engineering teams worldwide. They will also work on projects to improve current services and migrate systems/services from on-premises to AWS. Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities are critical for delivering outstanding support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create code to deploy new AWS infrastructure and automate rapid (re)builds of entire environments
  • Maintain IT systems by running application upgrades, applying patches, analyzing performance, and optimizing accordingly
  • Build scripts that improve automation of IT configurations and processes using configuration management tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to solve and resolve IT systems issues with urgency
  • Build and maintain infrastructure, service, and process documentation including backup/restore and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Stay updated on the latest emerging, relevant technologies and conduct engineering experiments to build new workable solutions
  • Provide excellent customer service and technical support (via email, Slack, Jira, ServiceNow, etc)
  • Complete scheduled tasks based on accurately provided timelines

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in IT Systems/DevOps Engineering
  • Participation in 24x7 weekly on-call rotation
  • Availability to travel as needed for projects and support (<10%)

Experience/Skillsets:

  • In-depth expertise in systems architecture, networking concepts, and standard methodologies for maintaining security
  • Expertise in three-tier application architecture (load balancer, application server, database), including experience with: Nginx, HAProxy, Tomcat, Java, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
  • Strong understanding of core network protocols and services: IP, TCP, UDP, NTP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSH, SMB, NFS, syslog
  • Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Windows PowerShell, etc) and with source code version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc)
  • Strong background in Linux and Windows systems administration
  • Provisioning experience with Terraform/other Infrastructure as Code tools and with Ansible/other Configuration Management services
  • Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Skilled in documenting standards, procedures, and crafting infrastructure diagrams
  • NetApp Storage and VMware vCenter management experience

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$164,500 - $246,700 USD
