As we continue to invest in product, service and technology innovation, we are looking for an ambitious and strategic thinker to join our Direct-to-Consumer Commercial Development team, to drive growth, validate new opportunities, and maximize ROI from strategic investments. As the Senior Commercial Growth & Development Manager, you will be at the heart of shaping and accelerating our growth in digital software sales and physical product sales for the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Direct businesses. 

You will leverage market analysis, financial modeling, and strategic insights to identify and validate new commercial opportunities, customer acquisition strategies, business models and propositions. You will be responsible for developing robust business cases, positioning investments internally, and setting the standard for commercial measurement across the direct-to-consumer business. 

You will work cross-functionally to identify and incubate growth ideas, experiment to validate concepts, build business cases, secure executive approval and transition initiatives to execution teams. You will be responsible for maintaining the roadmap of commercial opportunities for the direct-to-consumer business. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Identify and validate new opportunities for commercial growth for the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Direct businesses. 
  • Conduct market research and data analysis to assess industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities. 
  • Build financially sound business cases that demonstrate potential ROI and guide decision-making for strategic investments. 
  • Work cross-functionally with finance, analytics, marketing, product, and engineering teams to align strategies, position opportunities, validate concepts and achieve buy-in for program development and execution. 
  • Lead the experimentation plan required to test new concepts and validate their commercial viability. 
  • Define and implement best-in-class commercial measurement frameworks to track the effectiveness of investments and revenue and profit incrementality from business initiatives. 
  • Work closely with strategic analytics partners to develop and mature a predictive customer lifetime value model, with a clear plan for commercial applications and validation. 
  • Educate and support the wider team in crafting compelling business cases, positioning investments effectively within the company, and measuring growth. 
  • Balance short-term revenue-driving opportunities with long-term strategic growth initiatives to maximise customer lifetime value. 
  • Navigate how we deliver growth across transaction-based and subscription-based business models, pay-to-play and free-to-play content, as well as digital and physical product offerings. 
  • Support D2C strategic planning and annual goal-setting processes, to articulate major vectors for growth, initiative maturity, and investment asks. 

What we're looking for: 

  • Proven experience – you have enabled delivery of growth in a commercial, business development, strategy, or finance role within a digital-first business. 
  • Financial acumen – you can understand and articulate where profit maximisation opportunities may be found alongside revenue performance, how to measure ROI, and how to derive insights and implications from P&L analysis. 
  • Highly analytical – you have rich experience in market research, data interpretation, financial modeling, and commercial forecasting. 
  • Entrepreneurial – you are proactive and use initiative to find opportunities and forge a path to success, balancing quick wins and business realities with long-term value creation. 
  • Customer-focused – you ground growth opportunities in customer needs and wants, to sustainably grow customer satisfaction alongside lifetime value. 
  • Confident storyteller – you have expertise in developing and presenting compelling business cases and narrative to secure buy-in from senior stakeholders. 
  • Natural collaborator – you are able to navigate complex organizations, influencing across cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders. 
  • You have rich experience in digital media, ecommerce, digital marketplaces, retail, technology, or finance roles, or a strong commercial consulting background. 
  • You are an expert in Excel, and a power user of enterprise analytics solutions. 
  • You have a passion for entertainment, ideally video gaming, with understanding of content, and competitive market dynamics.
