Role Overview:

As a Corporate & Governance Paralegal at Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe (“SIEE”), you will play a key role in ensuring that corporate processes run smoothly and efficiently across the global PlayStation entity portfolio.

You will support our board and governance structures across the PlayStation business. You will help organise and maintain a secure and up-to-date global repository of corporate governance documents, policies, regulatory requirements and deadlines. You will ensure those deadlines are met and ensure that we continue to adhere to corporate governance requirements across Europe, APAC and the Americas. At the forefront, you will liaise with stakeholders across the PlayStation business to organise board and committee meetings, and draft and distribute relevant documents, agendas and meeting packs to board members in advance.

The role will also involve supporting broader corporate legal initiatives, such as acquisitions, equity investments and business mergers. Support will include drafting, reviewing and organising corporate contracts and policies and conducting legal research on various corporate topics.

The role involves a high level of organisation, diligence and professionalism. The PlayStation entity portfolio spans dozens of jurisdictions globally, with multiple business activities and development studios, and you will be instrumental in ensuring that all these companies operate efficiently and seamlessly. You will work as part of a small team within Legal & Public Policy but will build key stakeholder relationships across the PlayStation business. The ideal candidate will bring initiative to the role, proactively contributing ideas to enhance and streamline existing processes.

The position will be based in London but regular collaboration with the Legal & Public Policy team in the United States and Japan will be required.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Organise and maintain documentation relevant to corporate governance laws and regulations across the globe, including a secure and up-to-date repository of corporate governance documents and regulatory requirements and deadlines.
  • Develop and manage internal corporate governance materials to ensure the efficient operation of the global PlayStation entity portfolio, such as matrices that track activities and expenditure.
  • Draft, review and organise corporate contracts and policies that relate to corporate acquisition and investment activity, and conduct legal research on various corporate topics.
  • Prepare and draft key corporate governance documents, including board meeting agendas and meeting packs.
  • Assist in monitoring corporate governance regulatory requirements and filing deadlines across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee and manage corporate projects.

We we're looking for: 

  • At least two years (or equivalent) of Paralegal experience, preferably in the corporate space.
  • Ideally, a good understanding of corporate governance procedures for companies in international, national, and European jurisdictions.
  • Proven ability to project manage multi-jurisdictional projects in the legal space and take initiative in developing and implementing new processes.
  • Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple partners, including legal and business teams.
  • Enthusiasm to collaborate on challenging work and projects, learn new areas, develop new professional skills and have fun in the process.
  • Understanding the games industry is a plus but not required.
