About Your Role:

As part of our team, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing scalable, reliable, and high-performing backend services that power PlayStation Store & Personalization experiences. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and continuously improving backend software solutions.
  • Conducting thorough code reviews with peers.
  • Collaborating with product managers and UX designers to translate business requirements into elegant software solutions.
  • Working with engineers on PlayStation consoles, backend services, and QA teams to implement and test features.
  • Contributing to pioneering engineering initiatives.
  • Diagnosing and solving operational issues in a timely manner to ensure high availability of our services.

About You:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field with at least 3 years of hands-on software development experience (ideally using Java for backend microservices development with Spring Boot).
  • Experience with servlet containers (e.g., Tomcat), JAX-RS, Spring, and related technologies.
  • Experience building RESTful services and working with JSON and XML.
  • Familiarity with data storage technologies like MySQL, Cassandra, AstraDB, and search engine technologies like Elasticsearch.
  • Familiarity with streaming technologies such as Kafka and Flink.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and containerization tools such as AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • A solid understanding of agile development methodologies, along with experience in continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A proactive attitude with an ability to deliver high-quality results.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-functional and geographically distributed teams.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality software and an enthusiasm to inspire, motivate, and collaborate with team members to achieve success.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$158,900 - $238,300 USD
