Role Overview:

In this role you will be a key member of the PlayStation Global Entertainment Services team and drive key BD functions for media partnerships for the PlayStation platform. 

Those functions include app and partner strategy/portfolio planning, deal negotiations, account management and tracking on platform, financial forecasting, marketing coordination, and reporting.

Additionally, you will be an internal champion for key partner projects, develop strategic frameworks, provide in-depth analysis, value exchange planning, drive consumer experience benefits, define partner selection criteria, and ensure successful integrations and launches. The role will also be focused on EMEA-based relationships with internal Sony teams: Global Marketing, Global Store & Services, Legal, Finance, Product Planning, Global Business Operations, R&D and Engineering, as well as streamlining related processes.

The role will partner with territories based throughout the world and report to the Senior Director of Global Entertainment Services.   

The Manager will oversee existing and new third-party partnerships from Sky, Canal+, BBC, MBC, and others.  You will also support global sports partners (eg. DAZN, MLB, NBA, and others) on initiatives. 

What you'll be doing

  • Organisational
    • Act as extension of GES, in London, representing GES’s mission and objectives, delivering on business KPIs and ensuring that global policy and strategy are being followed at the local level.
    • Summarize existing business and partners activities, key issues (Europe), propose resolutions and provide recommendations to sr. management and peers.
    • Work closely and collaboratively with internal product planning, engineering, legal, finance, marketing and research, to coordinate and execute programs/opportunities.
  • Deal Negotiations
    • Management of negotiations and approval process for local media services and platform partners where PlayStation is present throughout Europe.
    • Support the sourcing and closing of deals, negotiate terms, finalize requisite legal agreements.
    • Work on robust financial models for deal analysis to determine structure, support proposals, and influence negotiations for launching new services.
  • Account Management
    • Participate in all components of partners relationships, app development, financial tracking, escalations, partner placements (marketing / promotions / advertising).
    • Identify and select new partners, define joint goals, manage ongoing strategic relationships.
    • Evaluate potential business partners to accelerate the expansion of media and platform partnerships as well as enhance overall consumer value propositions.
    • Schedule and drive quarterly reviews with partners for engagement, platform health, product roadmap, competitive analysis, revenue targets and marketing engagements.
  • Finance
    • Assist with revenue forecast and budget processes.
  • Reporting
    • Work with GES Leadership to generate partner reporting and analytics and platform insights.
    • Develop and report on KPI’s relative to Global Entertainment Services activities.
  • Strategy
    • Identify and research emerging market trends, develop strategic frameworks and create supporting analyses to prioritize company resources utilizing various research sources and forecast methodologies.
    • Identify and develop partner roadmap and opportunities from concept/ideation into robust business cases to deliver industry leading content for PlayStation gamers. 

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience overall.
  • Superior relationship skills; including the ability to work with multiple cultures.
  • Experience across both media and technology industries preferred (OTT app experience a plus).
  • Knowledge of digital entertainment, including distribution models, platforms and types of content.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to work with abstract ideas and situations across functional areas of business.
  • Detect and understand future consumer and market trends.
  • Translate trends into compelling partner and product strategies.
  • Strong computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Foreign language or international experience is a plus.
