Role overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative HR Generalist Senior Manager, who is strategic, influential, analytical and forward-thinking. This opportunity allows you to craft the future of HR Tier 2 and ER UK team at PlayStation, making a significant impact on our team, the wider People team and the organisation. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, complex global matrix environment where agility, collaboration, and clear succinct communication are key — especially when processes and handoffs aren’t always clearly defined and local knowledge is still being built out.
Ideal candidates have experience and skills in the following areas: effective risk management, HR team management and development, HR organisational change project management, training managers on UK policies, Employee Relations, UK redundancy and consultation process, leadership facilitation, conflict resolution, strategic cross-country organisational change and effective communication. You will also manage annual HR operational cycles, drive and motivate for change in the team, develop effective implementation steps and see them through to completion with situational analysis and by working through the impact such changes might bring. You will identify data trends and seek to continuously improve the team’s SLA and communication to key internal partners.
Most of the work will be UK focused but there will be pockets of complex multi-country change across EMEA that need to be assessed and project managed through to completion together with the Legal team, until such time that we have clarified the resource structure for Tier 2 and ER support across EMEA. This role supports the global HRBPs (based in USA) from the UK perspective with a project touchpoint on EMEA.
What you’ll be doing:
Strategic HR Organisational Change Orchestration
- Partner with HRBPs, Legal, and senior leaders to assess, map, lead, and implement UK organisational changes (and EMEA initially).
- Lead the assessment of timelines, processes, inter connectivity with other HR teams, and creation of change plans. Ensure timely execution with effective communication, stakeholder management, creative problem-solving, and curiosity to improve internal ways of working.
- Develop and write high-quality content for various audiences, including leadership communication, presentations, training material, and management information reports.
- Support the Senior Director with the design and grassroots Tier 2 integration roadmap for EMEA ER, together with Legal and PMO teams.
- Synthesize business information and build positive relationships with HRBPs and leadership teams to identify insights, make recommendations and decisions as appropriate.
Collaboration & Team Management
- Establish trust and influence while navigating uncertainty. Ability to ‘cut through the noise’ and identify high vs low impact activity, risk, and advise the business and wider People team with data and best practice
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Legal, Studio HR, central HR teams, and other global fields.
- Lead and mentor the UK PX Consultant (Tier 2) team to deliver high-quality HR generalist support and cultivate an agile, collaborative, and dedicated culture.
- Build strong connections with stakeholders across various time zones with diverse project demands.
Employee Relations & Policy Development
- Collaborate with Legal on employment law changes and own policy development and updates. Train the wider HR team and middle management
- Manage complex investigations with potential reputational/legal risk in conjunction with Legal and the ER specialist. Oversee all ER cases and drive operational efficiency in processes
- Drive the creation and refinement of HR UK policies, balancing commercial needs with compliance and process (example: coordinate implementation of Performance Improvement policy with PXCs and ER team, analyse trends, and monitor efficiency). Collaborate with the PLT on approval and risk appetite.
- Support EMEA ER cases with Legal until we have identified the EMEA HR structure
What we’re looking for:
- A proven senior HR manager with extensive ER experience in a matrixed, complex, global environment.
- Minimum of 5 years management experience of leading teams at HR Generalist level.
- Track record of influencing senior collaborators and delivering strategic HR initiatives.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.
- Ability to think strategically and act operationally with a proactive, forward-looking perspective.
- Substantial Change Management and HR project experience
- Experienced in tracking and managing statutory redundancy processes and thresholds.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity with strong problem-solving, analytical, and innovative influencing skills.
- Commercial competence with a people-first, efficiency, and compliance-conscious approach.
- CIPD Qualified.
Benefits:
- Discretionary bonus opportunity
- Private Medical Insurance
- Dental Scheme
- 25 days holiday per year
- On Site Gym
- Subsidised Café
- Free soft drinks
- On site bar
- Access to cycle garage and showers
