Role overview:

Are you a gamer with an eye for quality and the need to lead?! Come join the PlayStation Studios Quality Assurance team! We provide the best QA testing and support for an extensive lineup of quality games and other exciting projects produced by PlayStation Studios and PlayStation. Not only that, but PlayStation Studios QA is an incredible place to work (and play)!

Our QA Test Leads own the global testing of PlayStation Studios products. This means you will have the opportunity to lead and implement a global testing strategy for your title and its assigned test team. Our Leads are the primary QA point of contact for their titles/products globally. The more general purpose of this role is to ensure that a consistent global test strategy for the product is implemented and to clearly handle communication of issues and risk to appropriate partners. Our Leads drive efficiency through consistent test strategy, test management, and reporting while at the same time providing our customers with a consistent service globally.

What you’ll be doing:

Primary ownership and communication of:

  • Test strategy and planning for assigned projects
  • Global project budgeting for assigned projects
  • Communication to producers and global partners, ensuring that all outbound communication meets a clear standard
  • Performing consistent daily observation, research, review, and reporting of operations process adherence for all current assigned projects
  • Maintaining, advancing, and promoting knowledge in the field of quality assurance and control services revolving around current and potential QA operations service offerings
  • Consistent collaboration with peer group and applicable department teams to ensure alignment, knowledge sharing and the cultivation of innovation within QA
  • Participation in yearly performance review process, helping to assemble feedback and sharing it with their direct manager to support performance management on a global level
  • Capturing feedback and data to build and facilitate global-facing project retrospective/post-mortem

What we are looking for:

  • At least 2-5 years in QA Operations, or similar experience
  • Expertise in cross-cultural business and remote team interaction and leadership
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication
  • Outstanding critical analysis skills
  • Passion for video games

Nice to have:

  • PC testing experience
  • Experience with post-launch QA support for Games as a Service or Live Service projects
  • ISTQB® Advanced Level CTAL certification
  • SQE Agile Testing certification
  • Passion for game audio a plus (audio related certification/education a plus)

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$65,300 - $97,900 USD
