Creative Director
Sony Bend Studio, renowned creator of Days Gone, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Resistance: Retribution and the Syphon Filter series, is seeking outstanding talent to join our passionate and creative family in crafting our next title.
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Creative Director to help lead a project currently in development. This role is responsible for driving the decisions that set the creative vision, quality bar, and emotional tone of the game. In this capacity, you will serve to keep the team informed, aligned, motivated, inspired, and engaged.
Responsibilities

Own the overall creative vision of the project, including visual style, quality bar, emotional tone, and narrative development.

Head the design leadership team, aligning the creative vision to best support and enhance gameplay systems, mechanics, and player experience goals.

Meet target audience needs, budgetary constraints, schedule, and strategic objectives as defined by studio leadership.

Build and foster a creative culture that respects and values all contributors and trusts directors and leads to execute on the creative vision as defined.

Work closely with art and audio directors to lead content development and collaborate with producers, directors, and leads across all verticals through all phases of development.

Lead meetings, workshops, and cross-discipline reviews to articulate, clarify, and evolve the creative direction.

Represent and communicate the creative vision both internally and externally to stakeholders, including formal milestone presentations and approval gates.

Provide clear, timely, actionable feedback and ensure the team is aligned on tone, style, and vision.
Requirements

Demonstrated experience in a senior creative leadership role on at least one shipped AAA or high-profile game.

Experience with multiplayer game development and design.

Proven ability to guide and unify multi-disciplinary creative teams.

Deeply collaborative, with the ability to “disagree and commit” and move projects forward decisively.

Comfortable navigating organizational structure and aligning with executive and product direction.

Adept at championing creative concepts to internal stakeholders and external partners.

A player-first mindset that prioritizes engaging, accessible gameplay.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$187,500 - $281,300 USD
