Principal Program Manager

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is seeking a dynamic Principal Program Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a groundbreaking product across the PlayStation ecosystem of hardware, software, and service platforms. This role is central to driving cross-functional execution at scale, ensuring successful launches that delight players worldwide.

The Principal Program Manager will bring proven expertise in delivering global consumer technology programs, combining hardware and software at scale. As both a strategist and executor, this leader will shape program delivery frameworks, drive efficiencies across diverse global teams, and communicate progress at the highest levels of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership

  • Lead geographically distributed, cross-functional teams in delivering large-scale programs from strategy through launch and sunsetting.
  • Provide strategic oversight and, where applicable, manage a team of Technical Program Managers.
  • Serve as the program’s voice to executives and stakeholders, ensuring visibility and alignment at all stages.

Strategic Program Management

  • Define and influence program delivery strategies, ensuring speed, quality, and scalability.
  • Apply best practices in product development, spanning hardware, software, and services.
  • Establish structures and metrics that track progress, surface risks, and drive continuous improvement.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Partner with senior leadership to evaluate, streamline, and strengthen cross-functional processes.
  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities, clearly communicating trade-offs and recommendations to executives.
  • Foster alignment across Engineering, Product, Design, Quality, and Operations.

Efficiency & Innovation

  • Identify shared services and synergies across initiatives to optimize enterprise resources.
  • Continuously refine program management processes to accelerate execution and maximize value.
  • Cultivate a culture of experimentation, where innovation is encouraged and embraced at all levels. 

Leadership & Culture

  • Act with ownership, accountability, and urgency in delivering results.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across global teams.
  • Balance respect for legacy systems with a forward-looking mindset, driving ongoing transformation and growth.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience leading large-scale consumer technology programs that integrate both hardware and software.
  • Demonstrated success in driving transformative, global initiatives across complex organizations.
  • Strong expertise in program structure design, portfolio management, and change control.
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives and work effectively across multiple organizational levels.
  • Deep experience leveraging data, metrics, and technology to measure impact and scale success.
  • Skilled at navigating the challenges of diverse, global teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience defining vision and strategy, and leading high-performance teams to execution.
  • Knowledge of the gaming or digital entertainment industry preferred, but not required.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$220,900 - $331,300 USD
