Role Overview:

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a commercially minded analyst who thrives at the intersection of finance and planning. This role combines the rigour of financial modelling with the curiosity and creativity to develop innovative forecasting approaches. With visibility across two critical teams, it offers a unique opportunity to influence both commercial strategy and long-term planning for the business.

Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract.

What you'll be doing:

In this role, you will sit within the Commercial Finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director, Commercial Finance, while working in close partnership with the Senior Manager, Planning through a dotted-line relationship. With dual responsibilities across Planning & Insights and Commercial Finance, you will play a key role in connecting financial rigour with strategic foresight. You will be responsible for delivering accurate forecasting, financial analysis, and planning support that directly shapes the future of PlayStation Plus.

Responsibilities:

Planning & Insights

  • Lead on baseline forecasting, focusing on understanding historical trends and customer behaviour, and deliver detailed quarterly plans, budgets and multi-year views, scenario planning and insights to inform forecasts
  • Lead on innovation and new forecasting methodologies to increase accuracy whilst ensuring explainability
  • Support the build and implementation of new planning tools to ensure they meet business needs and stakeholder expectations, lead on the automation of processes and outputs, driving efficiencies and ensuring operational functionality
  • Partner closely with stakeholders within Services and the wider business to understand and deliver short- and long-term planning
  • Collaborate with Data Science teams across SIE to understand and apply available tools and resources while contributing findings and business area expertise to the organization

Commercial Finance

  • Support financial modelling, pricing, promotion analysis, and long-term value assessments.
  • Track and report on commercial performance against forecasts and budgets.
  • Provide clear, data-driven insights to support decision-making by senior leadership

What we're looking for:

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a digital entertainment space, in a forecasting and/or analytics function
  • Strong technical proficiencies with Excel and visualisation tools
  • Proficient at translating ambiguous business requirements into meaningful analytical insights from start to finish
  • Highly skilled at data modelling, with keen attention to detail and the ability to deliver high quality analytical work
  • Proven experience creating data visualizations and reports to surface actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across different teams and levels
  • Strong project management, multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, changing, fast-paced business environment
  • Ability to work varying hours as well as a flexible approach to working hours to support global business operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SQL, Python/R, Tableau and Domo an advantage
  • Interest in the gaming industry
  • Knowledge of digital gaming landscape, key players, and competitive offerings
  • Prior experience with subscription businesses preferred
