Role Overview:
This London based role is responsible for the overall leadership, global team management and interaction (US, UK and Japan based) and accurate & timely delivery of the financial planning and commercial deliverables for our Global Marketing division, to support the strategic goals and objectives of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) group.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the development and standardisation of Marketing KPI frameworks, including campaign ROI, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), media efficiency, and conversion metrics, ensuring clear alignment between spend and business outcomes.
- Partner with Global Marketing and BI teams to translate campaign data into actionable insights, establishing dashboards that connect investment to impact across awareness, engagement, and retention funnels.
- Lead the development of ROI models where applicable, for paid media, content, and partnership investments, linking performance metrics (impressions, CTR, view-through, subscriber growth) to financial results.
- Drive marketing effectiveness reviews, identifying under- and over-performing channels, and providing scenario modelling to guide reinvestment or budget reallocation.
- Collaborate with Global Brand and Commercial teams to evaluate cross-channel impact — quantifying how digital, retail, influencer, and experiential activity drive incremental engagement, revenue, or retention.
- Own and evolve marketing analytics governance, ensuring consistency in definitions, measurement methodologies, and reporting standards across all global markets.
- Integrate KPI and ROI outputs into long-range planning and forecasting cycles, supporting strategic decision-making and board-level visibility.
- Active hands-on management, direction and support to the Global Marketing FP&A team in the delivery of accurate, timely and complete Planning deliverables (e.g. annual Budget, MRP, quarterly Forecasts, monthly latest estimates, ad-hoc financial assessment and reviews)
- Drive and challenge the on-going development and establishment of streamlined and automated Global Marketing dashboards and Reporting suite(s) to meet senior leadership management reporting needs, focussed on value-added insights, analysis and financial analytics
- Maintain traditional FP&A excellence through accurate forecasting, insightful variance analysis, and clear financial storytelling that highlights drivers of performance and opportunities for improvement.
- Business partnering with the Global Marketing, FP&R and Strategy teams to understand key business updates and related financial impacts to support ongoing Risk and Opportunity assessments for both divisional leadership and SIE group risk management and decision making
- Continue to drive, build and implement new key processes to ensure financial rigor, controls and governance (e.g. across marketing spend, investments), and support Global Marketing management committee approval requirements
- Partner closely in alignment with other commercial finance to help drive Global Marketing teams accountability, fully understanding investments and spend initiatives to align with FP&A responsibilities
- Conduct holistic global assessments and provide clear direction to actively drive and guide the team to develop ways of working to improve efficiencies, leverage systems / tools to drive automation, and help educate wider business stakeholders to gain buy-in to drive new and improved processes / business inputs (e.g. Global Marketing trackers)
- Direct line management responsibilities of a Global team, working to accommodate San Mateo, London, and Tokyo based team members
- Ad-hoc work and projects where required
What we’re looking for:
- Proven senior experience in global financial planning & analysis, commercial finance and financial analytics
- Leadership with a continuous challenge, change and improvement mindset
- Forward-thinking planner, who is methodical, detailed and output focussed to drive new initiatives
- Organised self-starter, strong initiative, and proactive approach to drive efficient and effective ways of working
- Effective communication and people skills to partner at the executive leadership level, and the ability to maintain and develop strong working relationships with both non-finance and finance professionals
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task in an ambiguous, constantly changing environment
- Ability to flex leadership and management styles between hands-on approach and appropriate delegation, where required
