Sr. Workplace EHS Operations Program Manager, AMER & EMEA  

San Diego or San Mateo, CA / Hybrid 

As the Senior Workplace EHS Operations Program Manager, AMER & EMEA, you will be responsible for the implementation of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards across SIE’s footprint. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Workplace Center of Excellence, AMER & EMEA, and will collaborate closely with the SIE ESG team, Workplace Facilities teams and vendors, as well as other partner and stakeholder teams. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Implement a central Workplace EHS operations program for SIE facilities that operationalizes ESG goals into actionable Workplace programs and initiatives. Work towards implementing SIE’s standardized approaches in accordance with Sony and SIE rules and procedures determined by SIE’s EHS officer and team within the ESG function to operationalize and monitor against safety or environmental risks. Serve as the Workplace point of contact for the ESG team, coordinating, validating, and consolidating EHS data collected by sites aligned with Sony Green Management plans. 
  • Organize, update, and where needed, create facilities management SOPs and playbooks that each location can leverage to reduce environmental and safety risks, while promoting safe workplace behaviors. 
  • Ensure adherence to government regulations and SIE EHS policies, procedures, and industry standards, and support the Workplace team in implementing new requirements to maintain safety-conscious operations 
  • Support AMER & EMEA region office emergency evacuation program, including the development and maintenance of facility procedures, coordination with key partners (e.g., ESG, Facilities, Security, Site Leads) and management of evacuation drill schedules. 
  • Identify improvement opportunities to mitigate business interruption and other risks SIE may face. Incorporate continuous improvement processes identified during exercises or incidents (e.g., power outages, natural disasters and health emergencies) in accordance with rules and instructions set by ESG Team. 
  • Evaluate operational feasibility and ROI for proposed Workplace EHS initiatives and capital investments in partnership with ESG and Workplace leadership. 
  • Support broader Workplace initiatives as business needs evolve, including program management, operational readiness, and cross-functional coordination in a global, multi-site environment. 

Qualifications: 

  • 8+ years’ experience Environmental Health and Safety-related job experience, preferably in a gaming or tech environment.  
  • Strong understanding of core environmental health and safety standards, such as (but not limited to) OSHA, EPA, and any State programs. 
  • Experience in project management and thinking through hypothetical scenarios and concepts to identify risks and/or weaknesses in various business processes. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify inefficiencies or gaps and recommend effective solutions. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to drive a consistent EHS and business continuity approach. 
  • Certifications for EHS (ASP/CSP, CHMM, IOSH, DSE, NEBOSH) are an added benefit but not required.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$134,900 - $202,300 USD
