Role overview: 

As the Senior Workplace Manager for the Pacific Northwest and Engineering (AMER/EMEA) you will be responsible for overseeing Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE) offices to make impactful workplaces to enable SIE employees to deliver great results and ensuring our physical assets function reliably and continue to meet our needs. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Workplace, Americas Region and work closely with vendors, external partners, and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader in both workplace engineering and facilities management, with a background working with vendorized teams.  
 

Responsibilities: 

  • Accountable for workplace services and facilities management, this role will oversee the day-to-day work of the local in-house vendor partner team. Partner with office leadership, building management, suppliers, clients, etc. to provide a positive working environment that meets SIE standards. This may include maintaining office efficiency, procuring equipment, and working with building management to ensure facilities meet standards.  

  • Oversee all SIE’s leased spaces in the area (triple net (NNN), hybrid and landlord). Oversee large equipment such as CRAC units, UPSs, generators, chillers, dedicated HVAC to specialty areas, lighting inverters, humidifiers, and other equipment as required. 

  • Ensure critical infrastructure (HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, life safety, building automation, etc.) uptime through development and management of preventative maintenance programs, equipment performance data analysis, and asset lifecycle documentation. 

  • Serve as a partner and the primary point of contact for SIE employees in order to establish a workplace that empowers the local teams.   

  • Identify and enact solutions based on employee feedback and raise potential improvements, “lessons learned”, or large-scale opportunities to workplace leadership. Routinely contribute to the strategic vision of the employee experience.  

  • Establish, strengthen, and manage external vendor and/or supplier relationships. Manage overall results and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs) in partnership with the Vendor Enablement team. Monitor vendor(s) safety performance and conduct regular evaluations, addressing concerns as they arise.  

  • Partner with local office leadership to understand space needs and consider solutions that meet or exceed footprint optimization and efficiency. Seek to improve workplace experience through space adjustments and be responsible for any official move, add, change (MAC) activities. Seek to improve workplace experience through adjustments to physical systems and interior design configuration.  

  • Provide technical oversight for all office construction and renovation across AMER and EMEA regions, including engineering review and approval of MEP drawings and technical specifications. Deliver technical oversight for office construction and renovation projects across AMER and EMEA, ensuring Workplace Services needs are met. 

  • Oversee local workplace programs while contributing to the overall workplace vision and/or the strategic direction of programs (such as events) and their impact on employees. Identify program needs and partner with local and Workplace leadership to develop and implement.  

  • Consider cost-saving and budgeting initiatives as needed for the region. Manage procurement process and administrative activities for medium-size and/or complexity projects (i.e., office refurbishments).   

 
Skills and Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years experience in building engineering and/or facilities management, working behind the scenes to keep an office running smoothly (including experience working with Integration Facilities Management contractors and suppliers and monitoring service and compliance standards). 

  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, building operations and infrastructure reliability. Familiarly with NNN lease structures and property-level financial accountability. 

  • Experience supporting construction and renovation projects from an engineering perspective. 

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to take initiative, function in a fast-paced working environment, with immediate and changing deadlines.  

  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management are a must.  

  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact comfortably and effectively with managers and employees at all levels within our company.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$131,400 - $197,000 USD
