Indirect Sourcing Analyst (IT & Technology Focus) - Contract*
San Mateo or San Diego, CA (hybrid) - will require onsite work

Job Summary:

Join a fast-paced Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team where you’ll be at the center of high-volume, high-impact sourcing across IT and technology. As an Indirect Sourcing Analyst, you’ll work across categories like SaaS, cloud, hardware, and data center solutions, managing multiple sourcing events, engaging directly with vendors, and helping drive smart, data-backed decisions.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on execution and variety, enjoys negotiating and problem-solving, and wants to build expertise in technology sourcing. You’ll collaborate closely with Category Managers and business partners while leveraging analytics, digital tools, and emerging AI capabilities to streamline processes and uncover new efficiencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and execute multiple concurrent sourcing events (RFI, RFP, RFQ), primarily across IT and Technology categories
  • Assist in managing the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle, including intake, RFx development, supplier communication, bid collection, and evaluation
  • Prepare RFx documents, pricing templates, and evaluation frameworks using standardized tools and processes
  • Coordinate supplier communications, including Q&A and bid submissions, through e-sourcing platforms (e.g., Coupa)
  • Conduct bid analysis, benchmarking, and basic financial modeling to support sourcing decisions
  • Compile and present data-driven insights and recommendations to stakeholders and Category Managers
  • Maintain accurate and structured sourcing documentation and data for reporting and decision-making
  • Support negotiation processes by preparing analyses, scenarios, and documentation
  • Contribute to process improvements, including standardization, automation, and use of digital procurement tools
  • Conduct market research and support development of supplier pipelines across IT and indirect categories
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (IT, Finance, Legal, and business teams) to gather requirements and support sourcing execution
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, compliance standards, and internal controls

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or a related field
  • Experience supporting or executing sourcing events (RFx processes)
  • Exposure to IT / Technology sourcing (e.g., software, SaaS, cloud, or IT services) preferred
  • Familiarity with e-sourcing tools (Coupa or similar platforms is a plus)
  • Strong analytical skills, including data analysis and basic financial modeling
  • Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with data sets and pricing models
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Experience working with spend analytics or procurement data tools
  • Exposure to technology pricing models (e.g., subscriptions, licensing, consumption-based pricing)
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and contract basics
  • Interest or exposure to automation or AI tools in procurement workflows
  • Experience across indirect categories (e.g., professional services, marketing, contingent labor)

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below, this is an hourly rate.

$54.76 - $82.16 USD
