Apprenticeship Overview:

  • This is a full-time, hybrid opportunity, with 4 days per week based at our London office and 1 day attending the Arts & Business College of London.
  • This apprenticeship is open to applicants aged 18 or over at the time of starting, in line with programme requirements.

While working to gain an apprenticeship in Business Administration, you’ll be working as part of our Global Payment Analytics & Operations (GPAO) team, which will give you the opportunity to learn and develop skills and knowledge from several different roles.

An apprenticeship within our Global Payment Analytics & Operations (GPAO) team will let you develop your workplace behaviours, learning to work with others and build positive working relationships.  You’ll interact with and influence colleagues and gain working level contact with customers and partners.  You’ll develop strong oral and written communication skills, use your own initiative and take a structured approach to the prioritisation of tasks.

You’ll develop skills in IT, record and documentation production and project management, taking responsibility for initiating and completing tasks and managing & prioritising your time to successfully meet deadlines – skills which are transferrable to all sectors.

Role Overview:

The Apprentice Payment Analyst will support the Global Payment Analytics & Operations (GPAO) team within the D2C Global Payments team (on SPOC) by analyzing payments data and preparing a deck explaining data insights and results. This role involves working with a Sr. Payment Analyst working on simple SQL statements to pull data and export to Excel to make graphical visuals.

What you’ll be doing:

As part of the Global Payments Analytics & Operations team, you’ll learn how data is used to understand customer payment behaviour and improve the PlayStation Store experience.

With support from experienced analysts, you will:

  • Work with real payments data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
  • Help build and maintain reports that track payment performance
  • Support the investigation of unusual activity or anomalies in data
  • Assist in creating dashboards and visualisations to bring data to life
  • Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to share insights and support decision-making
  • Contribute ideas on how reporting and processes can be improved over time

You’ll gain hands-on experience with tools such as Excel and SQL, developing skills that are highly transferable across many industries.

What we are looking for:

  • Enjoy working with numbers and spotting patterns or trends
  • Have strong attention to detail and take pride in getting things right
  • Are organised and able to manage your time effectively
  • Feel comfortable explaining ideas clearly, both in writing and verbally
  • Are proactive, willing to ask questions, and open to feedback
  • Can work both independently and as part of a team

Experience with Excel or other data tools is beneficial, but not essential - we’ll support you in developing these skills during the apprenticeship.

Please note, Sony Interactive Entertainment conducts background checks at the offer stage for all new employees (which may include criminal background checks for some roles) and will need to process personal information to support these checks.
