Events Specialist, Global Events & Activations

San Mateo, CA (Hybrid/Collab)

Position Summary

The Events Specialist is an organized event professional responsible for supporting the Global Events & Activations team in coordinating high-quality live experiences that bring PlayStation’s games, hardware and brand to life.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Events & Activations, this role will support the planning and delivery of assigned event and activation workstreams, from project setup and documentation through project coordination, onsite delivery and post-event reporting. The role will work collaboratively with Global Marketing, Game Studios, PR, Social, Partnerships, Sponsorships, Influencer and Territory Marketing teams, as well as agencies and suppliers, to help deliver experiences that align with campaign goals and PlayStation standards.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role requiring strong organization, communication and problem-solving skills. Success will come from the ability to manage details, anticipate needs, raise risks early and take increasing ownership of smaller programs and assigned workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

Event & Production Coordination

  • Support assigned global and U.S. events and activations from briefing through delivery and evaluation, translating plans into clear timelines, trackers and actions.
  • Coordinate project documentation, including budgets, purchase orders, scopes of work, schedules, legal materials, risk assessments and post-event reports.
  • Support agencies, suppliers and internal teams through planning and production, helping manage deliverables, deadlines and operational details.
  • Contribute to onsite delivery and technical event operations, including equipment preparation, PlayStation hardware setup, gameplay demo environments and troubleshooting where needed (national and international travel will be required).

Global Collaboration & Governance

  • Coordinate materials, updates and logistics for Global Marketing and Territory Marketing teams, helping maintain consistent execution across markets.
  • Help ensure programs meet Creative, Legal, Corporate Security and Health & Safety requirements by maintaining accurate documentation and escalating risks or issues promptly.
  • Provide support across PlayStation’s marketing sponsorships, including campaign planning and execution, sponsorship asset tracking and other project workstreams.

 

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Support KPI tracking and post-event reporting, capturing results, learnings and process improvements that strengthen future programs and the Global Events & Activations Strategy.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience in experiential marketing, events, production or project coordination within gaming, entertainment, media, technology or a related field.
  • Experience supporting live events or experiential campaigns through planning, production and onsite delivery.
  • Strong project-management and organizational skills, with close attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Clear communicator and collaborative teammate comfortable working with internal stakeholders, agencies and suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of event budgets, purchase orders, schedules, scopes of work, risk assessments and other production documentation
  • Interest in live gaming and technology experiences, including hardware setup, gameplay demos, AV production and onsite technical operations, with a proactive approach to learning and taking increasing ownership over time

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$95,800 - $143,600 USD
