Are you passionate about Quality Engineering and Test Automation?

We are looking for a highly motivated, proactive Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our engineering team. In this role, you will partner closely with software engineers, product managers, and quality engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality features across multiple PlayStation platforms and services.

The ideal candidate has strong software development skills, enjoys building scalable automation frameworks, and is passionate about improving engineering quality through automation, continuous testing, and modern DevOps practices.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Design comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for new features and platform enhancements.
  • Review product requirements, functional specifications, and technical design documents to identify test scenarios and quality risks early in the development lifecycle.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Develop automated tests to improve regression coverage and reduce manual testing efforts.
  • Execute automated and manual testing across multiple platforms, devices, and environments.
  • Investigate, reproduce, document, and verify software defects while collaborating with development teams to drive timely resolution.
  • Monitor automation pipelines, analyze test results, and continuously improve test reliability and execution efficiency.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to deliver high-quality releases.
  • Contribute to quality engineering best practices, coding standards, and automation strategy across the organization.
  • Participate in code reviews for automation frameworks and test infrastructure.
  • Provide regular quality metrics, risk assessments, and project status updates to engineering leadership and stakeholders.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET), Quality Engineering or Test Automation.
  • Strong programming experience in one or more languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C# or C++.
  • Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with UI automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Appium or similar technologies.
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools such as Postman, REST Assured or custom automation frameworks.
  • Experience testing SDKs, libraries, backend services, and native applications.
  • Familiarity with modern web technologies such as React, Angular or Vue.js.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, CircleCI, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing applications on gaming consoles, embedded systems, mobile devices, or consumer electronics.
  • Experience developing production software or backend services.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of performance, scalability, security, and load testing methodologies.
  • Experience working with micro services architectures.
  • Familiarity with test reporting and analytics tools.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$140,500 - $210,700 USD
