Manager, Record to Report (RTR)

The Global Finance Shared Service Center supports the core business with finance related matters, covering a wide scope of activities across the globe. We ensure suppliers and artists are paid on time for the amazing work they create.  We work closely with the local finance teams around the world which means we have an excellent understanding of how the company operates and are kept up to date with key developments in this exciting and fast paced industry. Our teams play a key role in ensuring Sony Music achieve their annual goals each year

This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of transactional financial accounting services to Sony Music Asia entities. Key responsibilities include overseeing recurring entries, system administration (Cadency admin), and supporting BPO governance activities to enhance reporting, reconciliation, and compliance across the RTR function.

What you'll do:

GENERAL FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING

  • Ownership of global recurring monthly entries – confirming master data with local finance, preparing global models, and ensuring accurate booking by outsourced providers.
  • Oversee other recurring entries, manage any changes to master data or processes, and ensure completeness.
  • Perform year-end close in SAP for various entities and collaborate with Global IS&T.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, BPC reporting, and quarter-end schedules, ensuring accurate reflection in both US and Local GAAP.
  • Review key balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide guidance to analysts and perform ad hoc tasks as needed.

Cadency Admin Role

  • User Access Management: Manage user profiles, permissions, and access control compliance.
  • Change requests: Respond to requests from global teams, received through Jira or email, to implement changes in Cadency, including updates to reconciliation owners, task preparers, and approvers, ensuring alignment with current process and access control standards.
  • Monitoring & Issue Resolution: Oversee system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide user support.
  • Reconciliation Support: Track reconciliation statuses, flag overdue items, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Generate compliance reports and support audits by ensuring reconciliation adherence.

BPO Governance Activities

  • Support and backup for UK-based primary point of contact for Access control’
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of performance (SLA/KPI) and analyze agent capacity, providing actionable commentary.
  • Support UTP rate analysis to ensure cost-effectiveness and optimal performance in BPO relationships.

Other

  • Run various reports in SAP during month end as part of Taskmaster task
  • Lead / support various special project as part of Global RTR
  • funding movements between local bank & treasury, including approving foreign currency swaps for intracompany & trade fund movements
  • Collaborate with other RTR teams (MX & Poland) and provide support in reviewing / approving various JVs as needed

Who you are:

  • Minimum 4 to 6 years in finance/accounting, preferably in a multinational environment, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Work from home (hybrid – 2 days in a month from office)
  • Proficiency in SAP and MS Office; experience with Cadency and Blackline is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, proactive mindset, and flexibility in working style.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and oral communication).
  • Shift Timing: 2:30 PM – 11:30 PM IST shift.
