Senior Manager – Royalty Audit

The role of the Senior Manager, Royalty Audit is to support the objectives of Sony Music’s Royalty Audit Department in the areas of fieldwork, the preparation of rebuttals to audit reports received on behalf of Sony artists, producers, licensing or profit participation partners, music publishers and label unions, and financial analysis.

What you'll do:

  • Prepare rebuttals to audit reports.
  • Oversee fieldwork for your assigned audits.
  • Perform unit and financial reconciliations.
  • Manage the audit reserve provisioning for artist, JV, copyright and union audits.
  • Strategic projects as assigned by Director or VP of Royalty Audits.

Who you are:

  • CA / CPA or equivalent, 5+ years of recent audit or royalty accounting experience
  • You have extensive experience reviewing and interpreting complex agreements.
  • Prior experience at a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred.
  • Prior experience in managing internal/external audits
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with all levels of management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g. V-lookup, macros, formulas, etc.), Word, and Outlook.
  • Ready to work in US shift (4.30pm – 1.30am) & flexible to extend if needed.
