
Social Media & PR Associate
Sony Music is the leading international label in the MENA region, operating within the Arabic music space. We have signed and developed innovative songs, videos, and content projects with artists from across the region, including Amr Diab, Amir Eid, Ayed, Ali Loka, Maya Diab, Barry, Wael Kfoury, Manal, and more.
The Domestic Music team oversees A&R, marketing, content development, and social strategy, with the goal of expanding awareness, engagement, and fandom around our Arabic catalogue and frontline releases across the Middle East.
As part of this team, you will be responsible for driving social media content, campaigns, and digital storytelling around our artists and songs. You will create and manage compelling content for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, and X (formerly Twitter), ensuring our releases break through and connect with audiences across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon. In addition to core responsibilities you will have and nurture fantastic relationships with key regional and local mainstream, digital and niche music media editors and journalists. You will be the labels ‘go to’ for all press, media and publicity activities, maximizing visiting artist performances with regional media, and working with growing Gen-Z cultural commentators / bloggers across different platforms to reach new consumers as the communications landscape becomes increasingly disrupted by new media.
This role is on-site for candidates based in Dubai and remote for candidates based outside of Dubai in the Middle East.
What you'll do:
- Lead the social media content strategy for our Arabic repertoire, including campaign planning, daily content calendars, and community engagement
- Develop creative content (short-form video, memes, stories, reels, posts) tailored to each platform and aligned with artist branding and release plans
- Assist in creating artist campaigns, artist social media strategies, and artist media features
- Daily press relations and follows ups on news dissemination, servicing songs to key media and outlets, secure and organize artist interviews and features around releases for domestic as well as international priority releases
- Development of communications assets including digital releases, artist blogs, features and milestone news, internal global newsletter on relevant achievements/new releases and management of appropriate internal and external approvals
- Identify and pitch publicity opportunities and new angles for our artists, team, company, and catalogue releases to regional media outlets (print, digital, broadcast, podcasts, influencers)
Who you are:
- Previous Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a social media role, creative communications, and regional media role
- Education: Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, or media (preferred)
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written skills in English and Arabic
- Experience in content creation & storytelling with the ability to craft engaging, on-brand captions, posts, and stories tailored to different platforms
- Able to work independently across departments with proven ability to manage communications campaigns
- Professional in dealing with clients/artists, and able to respond to challenges constructively and patiently
- A compelling portfolio of communications work that demonstrates high quality creative writing, clever headlines and concepting experience
- Excellent Arabic and English writing, grammar and proofreading skills
- Implement a combination of strategic, conceptual and copywriting skills

- Strong collaborative skills: able to work cross-functionally and operate within a matrix set up
