Job Description
The A&R department is responsible for seeking talented artists for our roster. We are looking for an exceptional intern to join the team on a short-term basis. As an A&R Research intern, you will have the opportunity to observe and assist in the day-to-day activities of the A&R team.
The Role
- Gather and analyze social media and streaming data to produce comprehensive weekly A&R research reports and one-pagers for domestic
- Support the A&R Team by discovering new talent through research on blogs, social media, media outlets, analytical tools and DSP playlists.
- Participate in weekly A&R meetings, engage in discussions about artist development and music projects, and document key decisions and actions.
- Maintain tracking tools that assist and streamline A&R research.
- Compiling assets and statistics for department marketing tools.
- Updating weekly local show calendar.
Ideal Candidate:
- Enrolled in a post-secondary or training program with a focus on music, entertainment, business technology or marketing.
- Proficiency in intermediate Excel skills; familiarity or experience with Python is a plus.
- Creative problem solver with a passion for music
- Strong social media and tech skills
- Detail-oriented, data-savvy professional with exceptional interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude.
- Knowledge of the Canadian music landscape, including record labels and independent artists.
