Job Description
The Artist Strategy team plays a key role in actioning several aspects of an artist’s digital presence, including the creation and execution of digital marketing and promotional plans, managing influencer campaign strategies, supervising advertising spends across multiple mediums, and more.
The Role
The Intern, Artist Strategy will be responsible for:
- Working with the Artist Strategy and Artist Marketing teams to find custom solutions for priority artists, releases and campaigns.
- Keeping up with trends, pop culture, artist activity and updates on music and lifestyle platforms for promotional opportunities.
- Influencer research, communication and engagement.
- Conceptualizing and executing end to end meaningful and relevant influencer campaigns.
- Writing copy and designing social media posts.
- Curating content and monitoring our platforms.
- Assisting with and maintaining internal reporting.
- Working with our insights team to analyze and execute better campaigns and inform better strategy.
- Organizing and executing contests and fan engagement initiatives including but not limited to designing, legalities, communication and fulfilment.
- Understanding and learning internal CRM systems to facilitate better audience engagement.
- Proficiency on design and video editing platforms (eg. Canva, Capcut) for social media design, reports, recaps and presentations.
Ideal Candidate:
- Completed or enrolled in a post-secondary/training program with a focus on music, marketing, entertainment, or digital media
- Digital native + Avid social media user (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, YouTube, etc.) and knowledgeable about current trends on and off socials.
- Proficient in crafting and designing visually appealing, engaging, and social media-friendly video content with quick turnaround times. Ideally, already produces content on social media, either for themselves or for others.
- A curiosity to understand and identify trends in data is an asset.
- Strong writing abilities with experience communicating to an online audience
- Experience or knowledge in the talent management/influencer world
- Enthusiastic, outgoing and motivated, “never say no” attitude
- Music lover and mega fan of at least one artist
- Extremely organized and process-oriented
Nice to haves:
- Knowledge with data visualization tools, Tableau and/or Tubular as well as music analytics/data platforms like Chartmetric
- Familiar with digital service providers such as Spotify, Apple Music, etc.
