Job Type & Duration: Part-time Internship, 4 Months from January to April 2025

Compensation: Paid Internship

Shift Information: At least 4 days a week, 9AM to 5PM, up to 32 hours a week

Sony Music Canada carries on the Canadian operations of Sony Music Entertainment, a global recorded music company with a roster that includes both Canadian and international artists, as well as a vast catalogue that comprises some of the most important recordings in history. 

Sony Music Canada is looking for an exceptional intern to join the Media Relations team on a short term basis.  As a Media Relations intern, you will have the opportunity to observe and assist in the day-to-day activities of the Media Relations team including, but not limited to:

  • Monitoring and clipping press articles pertaining to Sony Music Artists
  • Creating and distributing daily press updates
  • Uploading Press Releases to the Sony Music Canada Website
  • Identifying new Canadian media opportunities for our team
  • Keeping inter-departmental documents up to date such as Earned media, Media Blurbs & Sony Music Canada’s Media List
  • Providing journalists with photos, biographies, and press releases when applicable
  • Assisting the Media Relations team as needed.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Completed or currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree in Public Relations, Communications or Music Business program
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Professional attitude
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • Knowledge of the media, outlets and general understanding of public relations
  • Strong writing abilities with experience communicating to internal and external stakeholders
  • Music lover
  • Proficiency in French is an asset, but not required
