Intermediate Accountant

Salary Grade: 31

Salary Range: $64,000 to $80,000 CAD

Location: Liberty Village

Work Arrangement: At least four (4) days per week in office

Job Description:

As an Intermediate Accountant you will play a key role in analyzing, reconciling and ensuring accuracy of the General Ledger accounts.  You will possess a comprehensive understanding of generating and managing financial reports, demonstrating attention to detail and initiative as a self-starter.  

The Role 

The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for:

• Planning, organizing, and executing financial tasks and projects including GL account reconciliations and month-end entries
• Prepare monthly financial forecast
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual corporate tax reporting
• Managing financial documents and reports including third party reporting.
• Manage various system interfaces and ensure financial attributes are properly assigned
• Develop and maintain queries to retrieve financial data from proprietary label financial systems and SAP
• Deliver ad-hoc analysis to support the needs of the business
• Assist with other projects and process improvement initiatives as necessary

Qualifications 

• Post-Secondary degree or diploma with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Ideal candidate will be a CPA or working towards certification
• 5-8 years of business experience in an accounting or financial analysis role
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Assist with other projects and process improvement initiatives as necessary.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to take the initiative, problem solve and multi-task
• Demonstrated leadership in previous roles
